whats happenin JDM enthusiasts
I just got a new job and ended up buying an infiniti. Wanted a car with all wheel drive that had some power behind it. I have a 70 mile/day, one hour each way commute to work. I needed to be comfortable for that ride. I had a 2002 jeep grand cherokee for like 5 1/2 years and that just wasnt gonna cut it.
Regardless I ended up with a blue slate infiniti Q60 first gen 2014. It's got the navi, premium audio, moonroof, black leather interior, brushed aluminum accents and all weather mats (which is great because the NE is brutal). As I mentioned before its the AWD variant.
I've driven it for a week and am averaging between 21.x mpg. Started cruising the forums and I'm pretty confused about what exactly it is that I own lol

From what I understand the first gen Q60 is basically a rebranding of the G37 that people like to trash. I really don't understand this, the car handles like a dream and is getting much better gas milage than people tend to whine about. IDK maybe its because I was used to driving a jeep and learned to go with the flow in traffic and never absolutely dump on the throttle unless you're stuck in a bad situation.

:N EWBEE:
Can anyone shed some light on this for me? This is actually the first time I've ever ended up on a forum looking for help. I chose to post in this community opposed to the Q60 community because there is zero first gen love over there! Any input appreciated

I attached a pic hopefully it shows

Welcome Teddy, looks like a nice coupe you found. If your coupe has a XS on the tail it's a sport model w/ big silver brakes w/ Infiniti stamped on them. If no S on the tail it's a regular AWD. Not sure about the G37 being trashed, they've been a very highly rated car ever since their inception, the only real downturn for the brand was the first couple years of the latest Q50 Sedan which has had some issues. Glad you found us and be sure to browse the coupe folder, lot's of good stuff for you here.

Welcome to the forum Teddy and congrats on the Q! You're probably averaging 21 mpg because of highway miles thats about what i avg when I'm on the highway also but usually avg 14.5mpg off the highway!
I can handle 14.5 off highway, the jeep I had did 14 regardless of whether it was highway or not! Anything is an improvement from that!!!
