Post Noob AF, first forum ever

I've been on forums for help, troubleshooting, and ideas. It's time for me to finally not stay so silent and engage more with the community as well as pushing my car out there. So here I am. I obviously have no idea if I'm breaking rules or not by posting this but please let me know. This is like discovering NASA for me. This is my twin turbo 2008 G37s coupe. I've had this car for maybe 2 years and a half and took this thing to hell with me and back. Motor replaced previously, as well as 2 transmissions. I'm currently waiting on my BUILT transmission (5at) so i can finally dyno the car and finish the project... well this stage of the project at least. What else would you like to know?

One hell of a way to make an intro. Most of us come in bone stock, not you my friend. When people are new and ask what their first mod should be I jokingly say "twin turbo!" but I'm at a disadvantage here. Interested in that build you have and reading about your trip to hell if you care to share. Welcome!

Well that's one way to introduce yourself! I love it! I don't know how you did it, I have relied on forums for all of my cars lol. Now, I'm building mine with a single turbo on my 5AT with a trans go kit and cooler. Anything I should know? How high in power did you get before it started to give way?

When I first bought the car somewhere by the end of 2014, bought it with 100k miles. It had the ugliest set of wheels ever, but at the age of 18, everything looked good. Bone stock; and guess what, this car also happens to be my first car after completing highschool and working for my parents without pay for about a year after. anyway that part is boring.

After purchasing my car, first thing to go out was the battery...which went out that very night. maybe bad charge or something. Confused, took it back to the dealer, swapped a battery and then i was on my way.

Being a new owner of a G37 at a very young age, I obviously didn't know better, so i riced the **** out. I had an ugly pair of super scratched TSWs and I thought I was the fastest thing on the street. I stickered my car with useless decals, the type that you find in the $5 dollar section.

My 18 year old self needed to upgrade the rice, so I bought a body kit. Yes, a dura**** TS body kit. After the install, my blind eyes fell in love with the car. It lowered the car without actually lowering **** and i was bragging how low I was. That bragging was cut short when I got the car back... with a blown head gasket. I have a huge suspicion that the body shop that I installed it at ****ed me over. Desperate to get to work (I was like 2 hours late), I got a head gasket sealer that you put in your radiator and that totally seized my engine.

Replaced the motor for a junkyard motor that just came out (super lucky) of a rear ended coupe. cost me around $3500

My blind young self finally started learned more about cars and realized how rice my car was. super rice. The body kit was just sooooo bad. Fitment was terrible. There were gaps under my rear brake light, gaps under my headlight, some bootlegged screwed in parts here and there. Overall, I started hating my car. Embarrassed. Ugly. I vowed to change that.

Took off the ****ty body kit, threw it away (except for the rear bumper at the time). Finally started doing engine modifications. I started to do heavy research on performance parts, I wanted to get away from looking fast to actually wanting to go fast. I really wanted to go Twin Turbo. I told all my friends. I NEED IT. Even folks I meet at the gas station ask me, "what are your future plans with the car?" TURBO. I WILL GO TWIN TURBO. WATCH ME.

I couldn't afford the kit at the time. So I stuck with bolt ons. Z1 motorsports was my best bet for bolt ons. Loved how well parts are made and how affordable they were. Didn't cost me an arm or leg. Got test pipes, intake, AB exhaust, and fixed a couple things here and there.

Couple months later. I love my G. I absolutely love it, but the only thing that bothered me was that the G was quickly becoming the slowest car in it's class. As years progressed, cars became faster and faster. Even some family SUVs can take on some older sport cars. I became desperate. Too many L's. The W's I took were mere wins, it was nothing like I "dusted" them. The G was simply just too damn heavy.

Looking at other options, the only thing I kept reading on is twin turbo. Turbo... thats a dream. Thats the ultimate upgrade. I had to do it. I was recommended to go to Speedforce Racing to get a full on custom kit rather than getting a kit from GTM or AAM. They both seemed great, but I was promised to be mindblown. I was the first G37s twin turbo kit built by Speedforce Racing. I became the little guinea pig.

Drove the car turbo for the first time and I swear to god I was in a new car (street tune only). New experience, SUPER thrilling. I LOVED the acceleration and how ****ING FAST it was! It FLEW I SWEAR IT FLEW. I swear I wasn't driving like a **** on purpose, I was having fun in my portable roller coaster.

I wasn't able to dyno at the time because my tires were too skinny from the "stance life" **** started breaking. Sensors started going bad. Weird misfires. One bank would go too lean and one would go too rich. It was weird. everything was in a cluster****. Replaced everything and as soon it was ready to dyno, my transmission broke.

At about 120k miles, my 5at tranny finally goes out. I get that swapped out (junkyard 52k) and replaced along with a built torque converter and got a transmission cooler. 2 weeks later the transmission goes bad. I have no idea how a tranny I just put in at 52k can go out in 2 weeks while my older one AT 120K MILES broke. Junkyard refused to warranty the tranny because my car's power was just too high.

Left hopeless, I had no other choice than to save up again and rebuild the tranny. One that can actually handle the power I'm about to put down which is where I am at as of now.

In just a few more weeks, I'll have my built tranny, ill be able to service everything with my kit, Ill be able to dyno it, Ill be able to fix my damn headlight, Ill be able to dust fools again. That's my story so far. I might've skipped out on some parts on my adventure to keep it short, but that's basically the story of Hell and back

Awesome intro and looks like a great G you've built up. Look forward to more details on this one for sure! Oh, and what's up w/ the Prius in your username???

Oh, and we don't allow talk of excess speeds on public roads just to be clear

You mentioned Borg Warner somewhere on your mod list. That's a breakthrough company. I've always had good friends and mechanics to kinda guide me to where I am. I always used forums to do DIY mods like intake or exhaust. I'm getting a transGO kit as well, the reviews made me feel confident in my mechanic's work. I never dynoed the car as of yet, but I estimate around 450whp+? I dusted a 5.0 coyote mustang if that helps. Tranny was the first super expensive thing to go so really build the **** out of it.

Cool story man. I bet I could give you an estimated guess on how much power you have if you mention how much boost your pushing, what size turbos and what size injectors you have. You have me scared for my 5AT now.

Ok so no mentioning how fast I go on public roads, got it. The prius was something I decided to do for fun (: I bought a legit OEM Prius badge and stuck it where the g37 is supposed to go. I thought it was be pretty amusing since no one says "cool prius" anymore. Besides, it's kinda cool seeing people smiling and taking pics behind ya. I even had a cop smile at my car as I drove my car

7psi each, I'll be upping that in about 2 weeks. 600cc injectors, and I THINK i have T3/4 size turbonetic turbos?

Well assuming they're running off the same vacuum lines you're only actually pushing a total of 7psi instead of 7 each, which is great. 14psi would have blown a stock motor after just a few pulls. Most guys only reach a MAX of around 12psi on E85 or pump gas/meth inject. That being said, I bet you're around 385-405WHP. 600cc injectors will limit you to about 550hp or less depending on how hard you push them. Great setup man, hope to hear back about the trans when you get it back!
