Hey guys
I just picked up a 2013 G37x. I'm coming from a Porsche Cayman S and will certainly miss it. The best drivers car I have ever owned. After six years of Porsche life I decided to get the best of both worlds, performance and comfort.
I looked at the BMW 335i and an Audi S5. Both good cars but I found a 19K G37X with the bells and whistles that I was looking for at a good price. So far I have enjoyed it very much and am looking for forward to put it through it's paces

Billy

I definitely want to hear your thoughts about the Cayman S since it's on my list of cars to own down the road.

I have a feeling this thread is going to turn into a porsche discussion..

IMHO, G coupe is much better looking than the cayman / boxter, except spiders and GT*.
There is no doubt caymans are much more fun stock though. That's what they are known for.

GTS manual spyder would be my choice, but looking at the $$, it's tough to justify one. If you don't track it, a G with both sways and co's will be just as fun.

Welcome Billy. I have a Liquid platinum G too. I also looked at the 335 and ended up with the G because of its reliability.

Thanks for the greetings.
I made the switch for a couple of reasons. It was a 08 Cayman S that I had owned for six years. I never had any problems with it but it was time for a change. With several thousand $ of routine maintenance coming due and I wanted something better in winter conditions. With the summer tires, cold temps were problematic.
I originally bought the car for a weekend and track car. I later heard of the oil starvation issues with the first gen Caymans (06-08) on the track from high G turns. 2009 these issues were taken car of.
The Cayman was a great driver's car which was very dependable. I never had any problems and would be ok to be a DD. I know them well, so if you have any questions on the p-car I'm happy to answer if I can.
I wanted a sports coupe that had all wheel drive and couldn't afford a new 911 4S.
So far, one day, I am very happy with the G37. It looks great, I have already gotten several complements. Acceleration is about the same, but I already miss a manual.
Thanks again for the welcome. The forum has been very helpful.

Pics on the way!
