My New G
My New G
Hi all, allow me to introduce myself and my new (to me) sled, to the community.
My name is Robert, I live in the SF Bay area (eastbay) and am a rabid gear geek/motor-head/car guy.
I needed a daily driver and wanted a car that I wouldn't go too crazy on the upgrades. I chose a G37S sedan over the coup for that reason and am very happy with my choice. Full disclosure: I'm a Honda/Acura guy. I have a 600hp NSX race car that I have spared no expense on keeping it competitive with all the new track tools. I've owned that car for around 10yrs and since then it has been slowly converted to full track use. It is an absolute riot to drive and nothing gives me more joy than to make 911 GT3RS owners cry on command.

After an exhaustive search I picked up the G37S down in LA from a dealer near LAX. The car was a little rough but was the right package and color so I pulled the trigger. Its a 2010 G37S Journey 7AT blue slate/black. It was bone stock when I drove back to the bay area.
First order of business was getting it up on stands and giving it a thorough cleaning and inspection. I dropped all fluids and replaced all filters. Next step was a mobile dent puller and clay bar paint correction. I removed the rear Infinti logos while I was at it. Next step was a set of 20" Niche Verona wheels and a set of Eibach Sport springs. I then added the full factory aero kit including mud guards. I really like that these come pre-painted from the factory. The interior was in pretty good condition except for the notorious steering wheel trim flaking and console ***** which I replaced with new trim and the very nice Carsmo *****. For giggles, I installed the GTR ignition switch which I am told adds at least 100whp
Currently I am awaiting the arrival of a Cusco strut brace, the R2C intake, Stillen cat-back and SS braided brake lines. So much for leaving this car stock... Looking forward to getting input and advise from the community. This site has been instrumental in pointing me in the right direction with group-buys, venders and experienced advise thru the search button.
Cheers, Rob

Robert, must say, that's a superb intro!
Love that NSX and that G Sedan is looking great too! The upgrades you've already done on your G go so well.
Do you have a build/info link on that NSX, would really like to see more details on that.
Cheers,
Brad

Yeah, it's gotten a bit ungainly but still a work in progress and a labor of love. They really are very special cars. It;s kind of nice driving the G in anonymity.
I bought my X at the low point in the market. Ever since they announced production of the new NSX, values have gone thru the roof. These days, unmolested pristine NSX's are selling for over $100K!!!
I just had the pleasure of going through that entire thread and all i have to say to you is ... much respect and props man!
Really glad to have a gear head like you joining us on the forum!
Funny that I bought the GS sedan thinking I'd just leave it alone and drive it...
