New G37 Owner in SoCal

Hey Guys,

I'm a relatively new owner. I bought my G in December of 2015 and have been loving it since the day I picked it up. K57 Amethyst Graphite. I've done a few mods so far nothing too serious. Here's a few:

- Window and taillight tint
- Led swap license plate and door courtesy lights
- Debadged rear emblems
- Sport front bumper swap
- Satin black grill and rear emblem
- Satin black headlight housing
- Stance SC-5 wheels Staggered
- Tail as Turn mod
- Tein Coilovers
- IPL rear spoiler
- Akebono BBK w/ drilled & slotted rotors (installing this week)

Lots of future mods coming soon!
(Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics)

Welcome!!!!! Nice looking coupe. Love the smoked tails with the black emblem against that paint color. Other than the bbk, what other immediate plans do you have?

Also, I've been on the fence about getting my roof wrapped in gloss black. If anyone has a similar color G or pics of one wrapped, please post. I can't seem to find any!

Welcome to the forum Lex and congratulations on the new G it looks beautiful! Don't listen to Venom he's a ball buster lol black roof would look great on your car for sure especially with all the black accents you have going on with your exterior.

I'm loving your mod list thus far as well accents the ones you have in store. Those stance wheels are awesome as well. They were the first set I owned and I absolutely loved the look of them especially with that chrome lip at night!

Keep us posted with any new work you do to your car and best of luck with her!

Actually, there are tons of non-black cars rocking black roofs that look GOOD. I'm sorry you're not a fan. I'm just trying to get an idea of how it would look. As I said, I'm on the fence.

I will partially amend my statement. IMO, the ONLY time I have ever seen a black roof look nice on a non black car is if it is gloss back (the roof wrap) and then the rear glass is tinted extremely dark. It almost gives the appearance of it being one large, seamless piece of glass (like a panoramic sunroof). Again...just my opinion.

Here's a bunch of scattered examples... I really love the look but then again everyone has different taste in style so it's understandable that not everyone would agree with it.

When it comes down to it though it's your car and if you like it I say jump over that fence and go for it! My only suggestion would be getting it vinyl wrapped a gloss black rather than paint it bc with vinyl wrapping you can always remove it down the road.

Thanks Kenny! I love these wheels but kind of wish I went with dual concave instead of the staggered route. The lack of concavity in the front wheels are kind of bugging me so a new pair of 20x10s might be on the list soon. Other than that, I love the finish but have also been debating on going with a nice set of black wheels to complete the grey/black theme. Let me know what you think!

I think you have a great mindset of where you want this car to be and how you want it to look! I can't wait to see how she looks when it's all said and done!

I agree, that is the only way to successfully pull it off!
