Haha. That was from the original owner. He left his Gator plate on the front from years ago. Crazy fans. It's been fixed. Lol. Drove around with the fam, they loved it.

Cranked up my G this morning and noticed the engine was loud and clanking. I've researched and it seemed like this happens to most all G37s on cold starts, but no one really knows why, at least from what I've read. There are assumptions of course. It just shocked me, it sounded like an exhaust leak but it went away after maybe 20-30 seconds. It wasn't really cold out though (65 degrees). Oh well. It was a great drive into work today though!

*edit* I took off the front plate. Why oh WHY would you screw the front plate bracket INTO THE BUMPER?? Couldn't someone figure out a bracket to bolt to something else? Now I have two big holes in my bumper. I guess I could stick the bracket back on.

i've dealt with this before.

go to a hardware store/Lowe's/HD with a big selection of nuts/bolts/misc parts. you know, this section:

find a plastic plug that fits the holes. bonus points for painting it to match the car.

Interesting. I'll have to try that.

Oddly enough, my S2000 had some of those plugs to cover the holes up. OEM though....oh well, I'll def give it a shot, thanks!

on my wife's last car, instead of using a front factory lic plate bracket, they drilled two MORE holes and mounted a plate directly to the bumper. this car was purchased from a dealer off lease. we don't even NEED front plates in PA! idiots.

since i had 4 holes to cover, i managed to find a plate-delete for it that covered them all, but i've used that plastic plug method in the past.

Well I ran over an S hook after work today. (It damaged the inside of the tire, not fixable) So I don't want to spend $200/tire for Michelin Pilot Sports which is what's on there now... So I'm going with Bridgestone Potenzas.

http://m.tirerack.com/tires/TireDetailsServlet?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel= Potenza+S-04+Pole+Position

What pisses me off the most is I dropped my wheel face down and fubared it pretty bad. All 4 wheels were near mint. I'm so disgusted....

Looking great Jeremy! Congratulations again! And sorry about the wheel that must suck shouldn't cost much at all to refinish it though.

I know exactly how you feel about the rim. Shortly after i parked mine in the garage for the winter, i dropped a ladder on the hood. (can't wait to find out what thats gonna cost me) The wife was just glad I did it instead of her. I can't divorce myself...
I'm really curious about your tire choice. I still have the stock Bridgestones and they are junk. I'm planning on getting the Super Sports. Kind of a tire nerd.

I'm not a huge tire aficionado but I am a fan of the Potenzas brand. Had then on my S2k and they are a meeaaan tire in dry weather. I've had good luck with Bridgestone in the past so I've stuck with them. Even had some Driveguard run flats and honestly loved them.

Are you getting all 4? I'm only buying fronts so willing to spend more. Lucked out and a guy gave me his fairly new Michelins (for my rears) from a maxima he traded in. I think the reason my fronts wore terribly is the first owner did not rotate them at all. Only had 16k on them. Poor tire care makes me so mad. Im sure a square setup will last better. Geeze that sucks how much you have to drop just to catch up the maintenance.

Yeah getting all four. Compared to the Michelin's, an extra $300 I got 4 Potenzas with road hazard (couldn't get road hazard on Michelin's)

Dropped my G off at 10am and should get it back by 6:30pm. I'm furious. The issue was matching the paint on my wheels. Apparently they've been painted before and aren't OEM color. So he's resanding and reclearing it. Nothing goes according to plan with me. Nothing.
