Hey guys, last post helped a lot about a good exhaust system. Now I wanna know what brand of fog light would be good and is trusted to switch out the stock oem ones. I want some blue ones. Thanks guys

 

Be sure to check with state and local laws regarding forward facing red or blue lights. For most jurisdictions, any halogen bulb with a Kelvin rating over 4200K is not legal for road use, and should only be used off-road. Just a heads-up.

That said, as for HID bulbs, when you move up to around 5000K, these bulbs become even brighter and emit a slightly blue light. If this is the sort of look that you are after, thenĀ*you should be in the clear.

But, if a bulb emits a visibly blue light it does not typically meet the requirements of a legal bulb.

For g37 applications you might best start with morimoto LEDs. Another great resource for all things illuminated are diode dynamics. Hope that helps.

I think it's a terrible idea, but 5000k will not get you a blue light. That is a crisp white. You'd want to be in the 8000k range to get blue. Still a bad idea in general though.

 

No need to research. Blue lights anywhere on a car, and red lights facing anywhere except toward the rear of a car are not legal anywhere except when they're on law enforcement vehicles. Plus it looks absolutely stupid. Please don't do it.

Yea I figured 8000k is the blue ones, I was checking out DD from an earlier reply and they have it in 8000k with a power relay cable. DD seems like the way to go if I want Hid's

 

After you've blinded every oncoming car by throwing poorly focused blue light from cheap crappy bulbs in their faces? Not a good idea. There is no reputable company that makes quality blue lights that are designed for automotive the type use you are wanting them for. Maybe one of those oncoming cars will be a cop and stop you from doing it to every other poor soul sharing the road with you.

Blue lights are for ricer car meets and shows, not driving on the street. Just use them there only. Please. You are onto something with your idea about investing in other parts. I like that a whole lot better.

8000k fogs from diode dynamics would be fine, I had 8k hid bulbs but now went to 6500k, if you like the color temperature get it it's your car your taste.

I personally recommend 5000K, as it's a pure white with no color whatsoever. It's clean, crisp and provides exceptional light output.

Not to mention that blue lights will not improve vision on the road. If your main priority is safety (which it should be at all times), it will actually decrease visibility because of its tendency to scatter more readily than white light.
