Do AWD cars handle better on the track?

Yes and No. The g37 awd for example does not.

Depends on the vehicle and the conditions of the track surface, and the weather too.

As far as I know, other than the larger wheels (18" vs. 17"), the G37xS is functionally identical to the G37x.

I track my G37x on road courses and 1/4 mile and I feel like it does have a slight advantage when the AWD kicks in. I've felt it pull out of long corners before. May just be me but I think it has a slight edge.

sport suspension and big brakes on the xS would help at the track, too.

I agree. The X AWD system adds minimal weight and allows the flexibility of applying power where needed to maintain grip. When it's not needed, the car applies full power to the rear wheels to eliminate parasitic drivetrain losses. Best of both worlds.

Are there any TCU flashes to make the 7AT AWD more trackable with supporting transmission mods? I'm looking to build a G37X Coupe up to around 550whp /475tq and would like the transmission to survive East TN roads, I.E the Dragon, Devil's Triangle, Moonshiner 28, etc. Perhaps also the occasional track day at Road Atlanta, Barber, Little Talladega, etc.

I know I can go with the 6MT, but prefer AWD with appropriate logic.

Build plan:
TT power addition
Coilover suspension with appropriate hard parts (A-arms, Camber links, etc)
BBK (400mm FR, 380mmRR)
Trans built/programmed for road driving, and the rare drag.

I'm moving up from a 91 300ZX TT that I did most of the above on already.

Might shoot a PM to Moderator Lt8che, he runs a Level 10 on his TT AWD G.

I thought XS's didn't come with big brakes neither sport suspension? Correct me if I'm wrong.

coupes do, not sure what the sedans get ....

from the Infiniti site:

COUPE:
Sport Package

Key Features

the Q50 has different packages than the G37 sedan, so can't compare that. looked at some websites - bunch of conflicting information. can someone with a sedan sport package give the scoop?

Oh, I had no idea... I believe XS's sedans don't get all that stuff. I have a G37S RWD and mine has all the stuff except for the 19's we get 18's which IMO it's unfair lol
