08 G35xS Sedan

Always been a fan of the G35/37 Coupes and the V36 G Sedan. Back in 08 I looked into purchasing a used G35 Coupe but it didn't end up happening and i purchased a new Mazdaspeed3 that I drove for nearly 130k. It ended up working out for me, as we had twins back in 2010, so if I had gotten a Couple it would have been sold before the twins came.

I recently came across this G35xS sedan at a local dealership for a steal, so I decided to upgrade.

08 G35xS, fully loaded,traded in my Mazdaspeed3 for it.

83k on it and I purchased a bumper to bumper warranty for 48 months/50k miles.

Yeah, it's an auto, the manual G's are RWD only and I'd prefer AWD since we're in IL and we get plenty of snow. And 90% of the manual G's I've found are black only, and as a former detailer, I refuse to drive a black vehicle.

At least I can pretend to shift, sort of.

Looking forward to searching and customizing the G to suit my exact tastes/style.

I've been on forums for 10+ years, including NASIOC, MR2OC.com and a few Mazda forums. I've owned WRX, MR2s, Integras, the MS3 and a 2001 Mazda Protege MP3 (think 1st gen Mazdaspeed Protege without the turbo)

Welcome to the site David, looks like a nice X you found, those split spoke 18s are a great looking factory wheel too.
Enjoy the G and the site.

Thanks guys.

Too bad someone sprayed wheel cleaner on them when they were freshly driven aka hot as heck and ruined the finish on all 4 wheels.

I did a quick wash and spot buff of a few areas tonight (I used to be a detailer and still have all my equipment, just no time for it now), found 4 dents on it that the PDR guy forgot about or didn't see on Friday, it was raining afterall and hard to see them in the overcast conditions. I go back tomorrow to deliver the title of the MS3 and spare set of keys and I'm going to ask for the wheels to be refinished. I don't expect them to say yes, but I will at least ask. I'm leaving their stupid dealer plates on until after they're fixed and the dents removed.

Proper pics with a proper camera after the wash/spot buff:

Very nice! That's the model right there that got me hooked on the G styling. I like it better than the 350 or 370 as far as looks. Welcome aboard!

Not much honestly, my big modding days are done, anything I do will be mild. Though I will have tints and vinyl on the chrome will be done in a few weeks.

So it's been about 6 months and I'm just now (at 91k) having my first issue with the car, either wheel bearing or the CV boot (or both) are making noise, dropping the car off tonight to get it looked at.

Also, I had my tint guy come over a few months ago and we did 35% tint all around, I debadged the rear except for Mt Fuji and had he got me some satin black vinyl and he covered almost all the chrome in satin black.

I had some left over tinted vinyl from my previous car, so I added a little tint to the back up lights on the trunk. I had this done years ago on my Protege MP3 and thought it make the car look better, so I figured what the heck.

All done

Up close

DS done, PS stock, with the reverse lights on

Thanks. Both front wheel bearings were bad to the tune of nearly $1200 according to the estimate I got last night. Good thing I bought the extended warranty!
