Newb Q60 IPL Owner
Newb Q60 IPL Owner
Let me start by saying, I'm a long time Maxima fan. I've always wanted one since the early 90's when I was in high school. Long story short, I picked up a 2002 Max SE in 2008, 6 speed manual. I don't drive automatics. Just a preference.
I loved the car, period. I was hoping that someday I could try a 350 or 370z. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be in a G37. That was far too "cool."
I test drove a 2015 Q50. Great car, no doubt. It just wasn't "me."
Well I upped the ante last Friday and went all in on a 2014 Q60 IPL 6mt with 9500 miles on it. I figured that if I was going to do, it, I'd test drive a few cars and just make a decision. I even saw a 2008 Shelby Gt500 for about the same price. It just doesn't make sense right now to own a car like that - for me.
I tried a 2015 Maxima and I must say, the quality and spirit just doesn't feel like it's there any more. Don't get me wrong, a great car, but when I drove the q60, I melted into the car. It's me and I'm it. I HAD to have it.
I'll try to get some pictures up at some point.
I just wanted to share my story and I look forward to hanging out here in the forums!
It's been a week and I must say, I now know why G37 owners are in love with these cars.
Some things I've noticed in a week:
1) The torque ratio "seems" a little weird. I can't explain it, but I can feel lots of power - it's just not how I thought it would be. Not disappointing in the least. Just a weird feeling I have.
2) I love all the options on it. It's like I'm driving an extension of "me."
3) It stops on a dime.
4) I'm worried about the snow. I think I'll be taking a different car into work on snowy days. The whole RWD thing kinda scares me even though back in the day that's all I drove, I don't want this car to deal with that.
Well that's my story!

Well that's my story!
It's dirty, been raining and I feel like a creep taking pictures of my ride! I'll drive into the boonies and snap a few this weekend if the weather holds.
I'm still smiling ear to ear when I drive it, I've just not had time to snap any decent pics yet
Also, thanks for the welcome folks - I'm glad to be here!

Nice car for sure. I know the feeling about being in the car as much as possible..lol. I love the feel, the look and the sound !!! No worries about the winters... If you are a smart winter driver and with the cars traction controls its not that bad and just think of the fun you can have spinning the rear end out all the time...lol. All the best...

I hear ya on the traction control. If rain is any indicator at all, I think it's going to do fine. The car really doesn't want the tires to spin at all.
Well I uploaded some pics. I'm going to have to get some better ones and work on my profile.
Love the site by the way, so much information and things to learn.

Mind if i asked what you paid, I'm looking into getting one with low miles like yours. Would love to compare prices. Thanks!
