New G37 Owner Question about the Shift Lock Tool

New (to me) 2012 G37xS owner so far I'm loving it. The seat will take some getting used to :-)

I understand what the shift lock tool is for and how to use it but what is the 10mm wrench on the other end of the tool for?

You can nearly disassemble the entire care with a 10mm. Its literally held together with 10mm nuts & bolts and the plastic push-pin type rivit things.

I think the intended purpose is to remove a dead battery ala roadside emergency. Should loosen the cable ends and the J-hooks that hold the battery down.

Thanks, I couldn't find any reference to it in the manual.

Welcome, and props to you for actually reading the manual! Same tool can be used to pop the little black square off the front grille to attach the threaded tow hook. Either way, hope you never need to use it, but if you do, its there. Enjoy the car & welcome.

Welcome to the site, glad you found us. I echo GAWDs sentiments, hats-off for consulting the owners manual, that seems to be a pretty rare occurance most of the time

Thanks everybody, I'm a tech guy I read manuals for a living. I did some lurking on the forum before buying the car in order to get some insight and any gotchas. Seems like there are a lot of good people here.

This is a dramatic change for me I'm coming from a Mercury Marauder which I put over 200k on. Here she is 2003 Mercury Marauder I like to keep my stuff nice.

I'm not going to go crazy but the first thing I'm going to do is get the windows tinted and I'd like to get daytime running lights. Either third party LED's or I see there is a hack using a relay to use the fog lamps as DTR's. I'd also like to black out the grill.
