2015 Q60S 6MT Limited - Hi Everybody! (Hi dr nick..)
2015 Q60S 6MT Limited - Hi Everybody! (Hi dr nick..)
Sorry for the stupid title. (Simpsons reference)
Just bought a new Q60S Limited 6MT. Which means I have a G37S, right? Lol
Seriously though, I think some of the experienced members here probably know more about these cars than some of the local dealers.
Does mine have the 348 hp or standard 330 hp? It does have a larger sport exhaust on it, and a nice exhaust note. Not loud but not too quiet for now.
IPL-ish tune or same as the regular sport? I overheard a salesperson saying "it's the new IPL, they just changed the name". But it certainly doesn't have the aero kit.
Reading on Infiniti's website, it seems to have a few extras vs the sport, short throw shifter, close ratio 6 speed (what does that mean? Rear end gear ratio?) sport-ier suspension and steering, etc.
Anyone know or is it basically a sport with black wheels and such?
I used to own a 2006 G35 coupe 6-sp. loved it.
Most recently I was driving my favorite car ever, 2007 corvette z06 (don't bash me, but that car was awesome. I miss it so much that I want to cry when I think about it, lol)
Had to get a rear seat for my little guy, and little girl now on the way.
Sorry for the long post. Looking forward to enjoying this forum, and more importantly this new car! (Still haven't driven it since I bought it earlier this week...been out of town)
Oh, and where to start as far as customizing it a bit?

Welcome to the site, glad you found us
The Q60 Limited does replace the IPL, not sure about the lack of the aero kit though
As far as mods and where to start, here's a couple decent intro threads that may help, and good luck getting over your C6, I'm afraid under 350hp probably won't help

Thanks man. 500+ HP and nearly 500 tq in a lightweight corvette was pretty awesome, not going to lie. These cars are "quick" though and still very fun to drive. They just don't have that RAW power and insane acceleration out of the box like the Z06. I probably should have saved $10K on a slightly used car and hit it with a supercharger or turbo, lol. Kidding...sort of. Need a reliable "grown up" car that is still fun.
Hey Mbaseman, welcome to the site. Since you had a C6 Z06, I guess you heard that Jamie Fuhrman just went 10.6 in his stock Z. He lives near me and owns a pawn shop, nice guy from what I have read, very modest. These cars are fun, easy to toss, and *somewhat* easy to mod. Sadly, the vette got better mpg.
Hey there Dr. Nick. Just got the same model today. 2015 q60s 6spd limited white on black. I got a 36 month lease and paying under 400 per month.
I used to have a 08 g35 and it was my favorite car also(had a 2006 350z). The salesperson didn't know too much as I asked alot of questions but hey that's why Im here.
As far as the car, right when I drove it I loved it. I did notice the short throw shifter and for a stock it's pretty loud. Smooth ride for a sports car and was impressed overall for stock car. Supposedly it's the "2015 IPL coupe version" but interior isn't IPL nor does it come with AERO kit.
Plan to do a few things so I hope there's more help and insight. Definitely getting intake, exhaust, and bolt-ons first.
I've been looking around for forums for q60s but kinda hard to find. Are all the parts (exterior and performance) the same as 2013 g37?
Thank you all and will be posting before and after pics

Whenever I see the "new" Q60 limited I get the sense that Infiniti put the car together to deplete the stock of parts they had remaining, but also bring something "fresh" to the table without investing anymore in money in the car.
Same spoiler and side mirrors, but now black instead of paint matched.
IPL wheels painted black and IPL red stitched interior. Possibly some other bits, such as suspension.
Some accessories were made standard such as the midnight grille and the sport muffler.
A whole new combination, but none of the parts are new to Infiniti. I don't say this as a derogatory statement, just as an observation.
With that being said I also think that Infiniti is trying to put an intentional gap in their IPL line to reinvent it down the road as a more substantial differentiator.
Since the limited does not wear the IPL badging, or come with the IPL exhaust, it also doesn't get the IPL tune for the additional horspower. This can be verified by looking at the website specs on the car and seeing that the Limited models are listed for the same 330hp as the standard model. The Limited is not equal to an IPL, but rather a new model that is targeted to give one last facelift to the car before being phased out, while strategically depleting parts inventory and severing the tie between the marginally better IPL and what they plan to use the IPL badge for in the future.

There isn't much to complain about though because the car also doesn't come with an IPL price tag!
Hopefully that was helpful information.

Thanks for all the posting everyone.
Is $1500 for the OEM aero kit painted and installed a good enough deal to consider? This would all be done by my dealership. Rear, sides and front, including fog lights and conversion. Seems worthwhile to consider.
Thoughts on the OEM aero kit compared to the newer model "S" look?
Also dropping the car soon on coilovers, but not looking to completely slam it. Want to kill most or all of the wheel gap but keep it daily driveable

It's a long story that can be summarized as follows:
Someone "cleaning" the car when I was purchasing it scratched the crap out of all of the glass on the car, and I'm pretty sure some of the paint got damaged with light scratches, but you can only see it in the right sunlight.
Anyway, they tell me the glass will be easy for them to fix and told me to come back after the holidays (I bought the car dec 23)
I finally get tired of being told to wait, that I show up and leave the car with service to detail and take a close look at the glass.
They end up replacing 4 pieces of glass; drivers window, triangle, back glass and sunroof. Then they finally give it a thorough detail (which I never received when I bought the car. I was told "bring it back aftet the holidays and we'll clean it up real nice")
So after a day or two I notice that the other glass is in subpar shape too. I bring it back and they have it professional cleaned and buffed by some glass company. Still scratched up now worse. So they tell me if I'm not happy, they will replace the rest of the glass.
I'm not happy and do not like the idea of a brand new car that now will have all of its glass replaced. That's not why you buy new. It is was supposed to be for piece of mind. So after a while the GM says "I'll swap you into another from my lot, but all I have is the grey in 6MT". My car is white.
So I actually debated over it, and then convinced myself that the grey would be even better than my white. After hours of waiting I was finally told that they couldn't make it happen. He couldn't get the state to give back the title. Obviously...sigh. So now he promises me he'll make sure everything goes perfect. (I basically convinced myself that the white was ugly and the grey was better. Now I'm even more upset over everything. Haha
So I get the rest of the glass replaced, after waiting 1-2 weeks again. I've been dying to tint the car, can't because of the glass problems..
After replacing the remaining 3 pieces of glass, including the windshield, they detail the car up real nice for me and give it back. I'm thinking finally! So I get t he car tinted and spent a ton to get quality 3M tint all around, sunroof and windshield too (heat protector, not dark tint windshield)
Anyways, I am now noticing that the windshield, sunroof and rear seem to be lightly scratched but also have a ton of very small, hard to see nicks in the glass. They really shine after a hand car wash and getting the sun at the right angle. It's notixeable and distracting while driving.
I am in the middle of fighting with them. I think it's their car wash but they are saying it's relatively new and they wash 100's of cars a day and no one complains, blah blah. But something is damaging my windows.
And I refused to even attempt to wash this car when I bought it and knew the windows were scratched. I didn't want to disturb the evidence, if you will. I have hand washed it 2x's since getting it back from having all of the glass replaced. I have never had any problems with nicked up glass or scratches on my 15+ years of owning cars.
Ok, not short at all...sorry.
So I don't know what I to do and have never been able to enjoy my first NEW car.
What do you think I should do? What would you do???
Thanks and sorry for the book
