New Owner of a 2012 G37xs

Hi everyone,

I'm a proud new owner of a 2012 G37xs with 22k. I left my Cadillac CTS behind and took the plunge.

Being new to this car, I wanted to ask if there are any concerns that I should be made aware of?

I have a decent amount of bumper to bumper warranty left and other warranties that transferred.

The finance guy at the Nissan dealership that sold it to me said I should look into a warranty that covers the electrical sensors and systems that aren't covered with my existing warranties. This implied that there are common place electric issues with this car.

Is there any truth to this or is this just fear mongering on the part of the dealership to sell an extended warranty?

Looking forward to being a part of the community.

Welcome. The only issues I had so far is the light around the analog clock and a weird squeak when pressing the brake pedal. Don't know if those things are covered in the warranty.

Most likely your vehicle has less than 48,000 miles so the Infiniti factory warranty is still in effect. Just take it to an Infiniti dealer if anything comes up. I bought my 2011 G37 second-hand with 25,000 miles and had the Bose head unit (skipping CD player) and the steering wheel (peeling leather) replaced under factory warranty at no cost to me. Since I drive a lot (already put an additional 25,000 miles on the clock), I opted to purchase the Infiniti Elite extended warranty for peace of mind.

Congratulations on your purchase and enjoy your awesome car!

Congrats on your new 37X, moved it to this folder to get you a proper intro.
Electrical issues are pretty rare w/ this car, sure some crop up now & then but nothing I'd worry about being excessive.
Welcome to the site and have a good look around.

No problems with mine thus far.
Prior to the last oil change I was down about a quart.
Just returned from a round trip from NJ to Florida and put over 3500 miles. Looks like I'm down about 1/4 qt on the dipstick.
Go figure!

You have a solid car, proceed with your normal maintenance. You've got many miles of smooth sailing ahead.

I just traded my CTS in for a 2012 myself. What year was your CTS and how do you like the G in comparison?

I had a 2004 CTS 3.6 Sport/Premium/Lux package, I love the G so much more than my old caddy, the quickness and stability at high speed is refreshing.

Honestly, there is no comparison everything is nicer from the navigation to the actual feel of the car, but that should be a-given that there is a 8 year difference.
