why so much hate towards newbies?
why so much hate towards newbies?
As the tittle says why all of the hate someone new asks a question?.. Weren't we all newbies? A guy asked how to post something the other day and at least 5 guys told him to get out of the site
. I know is annoying but damn

I was never a newbie. I came forth into this world knowing everything there is to know about forums and forum accessories.
There's some hate due to the amount of uneducated questions lately/always. People choose not to do any research or groundwork on their own problems and expect others fix their issues.
Noobs that contribute something to the equation are never given a hard time.
Noobs that come and participate and try to help themselves by using the treasure trove of information that's here (and show appreciation for those that provide it) are always helped if they need a little extra help.
Noobs that come here and make demands as if the world revolves around them and their inane question is the single most important issue on this forum are ignored by some and derided by others. Noobs that refuse to attempt to help themselves might be given a hard time. Noobs that come here and are disrespectful get banned.
So the hate toward the noob is generally directly proportionate to what type of noob they are - a giver or a taker. A net plus or a net minus. Respect (for the knowledge and time of other members) begets respect.

Well said BB, also please report posts or members that are trashing other people.
I try to get around the site on a regular basis and really haven't seen anything too blatant in particular. If you have a link(s) please post.

My time is valuable. If someone can't be bothered to preface their post with a meaningful subject, it will be skipped. Same for questions that can easily be answered using the search function.
No flames here, just skipped posts altogether.

Just like 350z and g35 forums. The car is becoming more affordable and more questions of the same thing pop up so I think its reasonable when noobs get the try searching answer. Honestly I think it's only going to get worse but hey I'm a long time lurker of the forums and its sometimes fun to read the replies in some of the threads that have been discussed to death.
Why newbies get flamed
1) They ask a question about a topic that's been answered a million times. And yeah I get it, maybe the search button on the forum is not very visible. But even a google/yahoo/bing search will land you back here to the right threads.
2) The tone/language/English in which they post demands zero respect. From all caps posts to 25-line sentences. We can understand being a newbie when it comes to cars but come on! Now I'm not asking you to post all Shakespearean-Black Betty style but just a little 3rd Grade punctuation.

3) They post an Exhaust related question in the Site Feedback and Suggestions subforum.
I guess we're asking for too much.
