NavTraffic?

Does anyone have/use/used NavTraffic?

What are your thoughts?

It would be the only reason I would get XM

How up to date is it?

Does it offer alternative routes?

Is there any other insight you can offer?

Is SXM Traffic & Navtraffic the same thing or is one better then the other?

Do you have Travel Link? What are your thoughts on that?

Do you pay by the month or year?

Does it ever go offline?

I like it. I use it for both my G and our QX. I find it to be very up to date and valid- literally showing traffic flow to within a quarter mile. I don't use the rerouting feature b/c I usually know where I'm at and just reroute myself.

I only paid 42/year for just the traffic feature on XM since I already have a lifetime subscription for the satellite radio part. That is well worth it for me since I don't drive the G a ton where I need traffic updates.

I routinely use the feature and like it. It takes some uncertainty out of various traffic environments. It seems quite up to date in predicting when traffic congestion begins and ends. And if you change a route it will recalculate as necessary. It has rarely been out of service. I pay for a full year in advance.

The only feature find annoying is when you’re at a screen showing the beginning and ending of a congestion or accident area. I usually have to go to a second screen to see the ending area, but the first screen is dimmed as long as the car is moving. You’d be surprised how infrequently you come to a full stop for at least 3 seconds to get data for that second screen.

So wait
The NavTraffic does not sync with the Navigation to keep you out of traffic?

It does. I just haven't ever relied upon it.

Hold on a sec, does the 09 G37 w/ Nav support NavTraffic? Because when I called sirius they told me that function wasn't available on my car only audio feature, is this correct?

The nav traffic pops up on my 08 when xm does it's free week trials. It should be supported.

I have it on my ’08 so I don’t see why it would be unavailable for an ’09. Of course, the feature does cost a bit more, so that’s where there may be some confusion.

Love Navtraffic!!!

It reroutes you (if the automatic rerouting is on), it shows the traffic flow.

& you can purchase just Nav traffic and weather separably from XM, you don't have to have XM radio to have weather, traffic &/or travel link. I think it's like $8.95 per month for traffic and weather...or at least it used to be like that

Oh, and travel link is awesome as well. Get movie listings and gas prices near you.

Pay by year it's cheaper

I've got it on my '09xS. Paid 42 or so for the year of service since I already have a lifetime Sirius/XM subscription.
