Newbie from Florida

I am now the proud owner of a 2012 G37. What a car. I traded a 2010 BMW 328i and there is no comparison. The question I have is related to Bluetooth.
I want to make a call by name rather than number and the manual calls it "Voicetag". I don't want to download my entire phone numbers, I just want tp put in a few names and numbers. How would I do this? I was able to get my phone connected and put in my name, how would I proceed from there?

Also, how do I add my car to where it says "Garage is empty, add now"?
Thanks

I think you have to manually enter the numbers you want to call and then register it to the name you want to activate. The voice system isn't great, that's for sure. It helps if you put the names in phonetically, but leads to some amusing conversations if someone else is in the car.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think you're right about entering the numbers manually and then associating them with a name. I'll try that, but the impression I had from reading the manual was that you could connect a number with a name only after you entered your entire address book from your phone which I don't want to do. That's what they call Voicetag.
I'll give it a try and post again here with the results.

Hey, Welcome to the site. I downloaded my phone book into the car, however it doesn't do anything for me. I never look up numbers in the car. I usually call people from just outgoing, and incoming logs; those are numbers that I've manually called.

Welcome to the community. Have fun figuring out the Bluetooth functions. It took me an hour to get it all setup..... Then a month later my phone died so I got a new one. I had forgotten how to do it so I just left it alone to save the aggravation. Enjoy your car!

Everyone....Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm in love with this car!

Well, I can use my cell phone with the G37, but not voice activation. I called Infinity today and they said my phone needs to be updated that's why the voice activation won't work. My phone is recognized and it seems the only way I can make a call is to dial the number from my phone first and then it will come through the car speakers. I can also receive calls, so it's not too bad. I'm not about to upgrade my cell phone because I don't use it that much.

Maybe someone can explain this. When I first started messing with all this I was able to put in a phone number and I stopped mid-way through that process and now I can't seem to figure out how I did that.
