Newb in Boston!
Newb in Boston!
Hey everyone,
I have been a member at g35driver since May when I picked up my 2008 G35xS. Figured Iwould jump on here since i see a lot more activity around the body style here.
I did not want an 09-10 for the oil burning and tranny issues I learned about here and did not want to fork over the emount of cash the 11-13s are commanding since I want the cash and debt amounts to remain in check since I would like to buy a house in the summer. No easy feat in the Boston area... I looked for a good month or two and finally found one that was black on black (the colors I wanted) with Nav and a 2008 in MD at a nissan dealer.
I flew down, they scooped me at the airport, and I saw the car. It was perfect. I inspected it for over an hour before even test driving it (carfax was clean but that is usually a partial story). Under the seats, under the trunk pad, etc was just as perfect as the outside. Well I should say perfect, the damn cluster pad is rolling up like they all do but, you get the idea.
Bought it an road tripped home. I have since contacted the owner who has given me nothing but positive info on the car (i pulled his home and work address out of the Nav when I picked it up). He had Takeda intakes installed before trading it in.
I have since swapped every bulb on the car with an LED bulbs from VLEDs including a custom set up for the trunk. I have had my wind screen replaced with a Pilkington. I have done a lot of detailing and one round of leather conditioning. Round two soon.
3 weeks ago someone swiped my bumper so the car is in the shop this week getting new bumper paint. Next week I am getting a prorated credit on my Yokohama's for dryrotting between treads at 2 yrs old and having Mich PS A/S 3s Y speed with a slightly larger 235/50/18 size. Excited for that one.
For now, I am keeping the mod list limited by transferable to a 2013 G37xS items only. I will most likely go that route after purchasing a house. Who knows, I may keep this one as a daily and get a little E30 as a project.
A lot of info but that is where I am at. Looking forward to using the **** out of your knowledge! Thank you in advance. I will try to repay by contributing as well.
