Just wanted to introduce myself. I just purchased a 2011 Liquid Platinum G37 Sedan with the Premium Pkg. I could have got any 40K vehicle out there and I must say I made the right choice, no question about it. And for comparison, I did own a 06 IS 350. I look forward to learning from you guys (and gals).

 

Welcome, isn't the IS faster? I liked the IS but it was a little too small and the 350 didn't have a manual option.

Honestly, I think the IS would take the G35 in a straight line by a small margin. The G37, who knows. The driving enjoyment on the other hand is non comparison. Overall, It's what you want. If you want a small, quiet, secluded, soft car, the IS is for you. If you a drivers car with more room, same quality, better feel, same performance, the G is for you. I bought my IS before the new G's came out. My bad. But now, my good.

congrats on your new purchase! i'm a fan of the 350's! a nice previous car, but a bit too small (and a little uncomfortable) for my taste!

the 37 shouldn't have any problem with the 350 after 100. 350's have been known to take 335i's in the quarter mile. they're geared aggressively, up to 100. after that...it's anyone's game.
