19's or 20's on sedan
I'm new to the whole forum thing and don't know a whole lot about wheels/tires so excuse my newness. I have a 2009 Journey sedan and putting Vossen VVS083's on it and deciding if I should go with 19's (19x8.5) with 245/40/19 all around or 20's (20x9) with 245/35/20 all around? I don't want to get too aggressive and would prefer not to drop if I don't need to and wanted to get idea of what would look best without drop or with if necessary. Any feedback and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I would search around the forum, use google images as well to see what you like. Nothing really looks good without a drop. Offsets play a key role in your look as well. Check out picture share sedans>>>
Do you have an x or what is your reasoning for not going with a staggered setup? There are tons of options out there so definitely go through the pics. I personally have 20s and love it but even that people can justify either choice for their own situations.
Thanks, I don't have X and was thinking about staggered cuz it looks clean but had two different tire guys say that you burn through tires quick cuz can't rotate. I didn't really know. If not case I'd def do that. Like I said I don't want to get too aggressive with it but want it too look good. Seems dropping it a bit is a must. What's best way to do that? Thanks again!

i was in the same dilemma when i was looking into rims. Some of the reasons i got 19s instead of 20s:
- i am not lowering so getting 19s would look better than getting 20s (20s would stand out more without being lowered).
- this is eventually going to turn into my winter setup.
- they were cheaper (apparently 20s tires are cheaper than 19s though)
- 20s just sounded a bit on the larger side, 19s seem just the right size: not too big, not too small either.

This has been my biggest question, can't drop it (driveway, speed bumps) and I'd like to keep the same ride or close to it, and not sure how bad the 19s or 20s are compared to the standard 17" tires.
You will be fine performance wise on 20's. It ultimately is obviously a preference thing but check out availability and pricing on tires too if you want a certain size or brand.
