Smile Please welcome me!!!

I just drove away last night in my new 2011 G37X Sedan and OMG, I'am drowning in happiness over the smooth ride, the MANY features the car offers, I could go on and on.....

First, NOTHING to complain about regarding the handling and power of the car. OMG, what a gorgeous ride. As far as interior and after getting home and sitting in the car for 2 hours setting up XM, burning CD's into the Music Box, etc... I'am only disappointed with 2 things (none of which are that big of a deal to me)...

. Syncing contacts from my iPhone into the Phonebook
. The only way to get to the Music Box is through the Source button on the steering wheel

Having to manually enter my contacts will be daunting, but once completed, no biggie.

Having to access the Music Box from the source button seems weird since I can get to my FM1,2, AM, XM1,2,3, Ipod, and CD from the center controls. Unless I'am missing something, why is the music box not accessible from the center (AUX)?

Thank you for this forum, I cannot wait to surf and find out more information from other "G" owners!!!

Estatic owner!!!
Mike

Welcome, it makes me happy to hear how happy you are. I love these cars in all versions, shapes, and sizes. It is refreshing to see such excitement and reminds me of the day I picked my car up!

First...thanks everyone for the welcome. Second, I do have an update on the phonebook (non-issue). At lunchtime I went out to my car to grab something to eat and start entering numbers manually. Low and behold, ALL of my contacts are in there. I guess it happened when I paired the phone to the car. I'm running Ios 4.2 on my phone if that helps anyone. The only thing I do not like is that I cannot scroll through my contacts, I can only say their name OR say "next Entry" to scroll, which sucks if you want to talk to someone starting with any letter other than A.

I will DEF post pix soon....I can't wait to get out of work and drive home. Honestly, I'm 39 years old and never felt this way about a car!!! Lovin my "G"

The voice recognition can be a pain. My gf's nickname is Lil and the stupid Infiniti lady always answers back "ok help". I gotta check if my contacts imported but I'm running 4.1 on my ip4. Can't get 4.2 because my old *** macs are still running on tiger. Damn you Steve jobs for trying to force me to upgrade my os!

welcome. you can access the harddrive through the "disc" button near the navi screen. it will toggle between cd or harddrive.

yea the voice recognition is a pain and slow. it is much quicker to pull out the phone and hit contacts to dial yourself. also it is often confused too. today i told it to call "john S" and it dialed the Chinese kitchen instead.

even though it has its quirks i like the car even better now after 9 months of ownership than when it was new. it provides everything i want in a car.

The dealer helped a great deal on the phone book issue for me during the initial briefing... They did a pretty good job for Friday at 7pm or later...

It is great to see other new enthusiastic owners and awesome forum monitors that welcome each new member!

Where in NJ are you? I went to school in the middle of it.

Thanks CVroom for the info on the 'disk' button. It DEF worked! Coprolite, I'm in Metuchen, NJ (central) and as far as the phonebook, it is terribly SLOW!!! I just use my phone to dial out. Although, absolutely no complaints with the bluetooth.

Still in LOVE with my "G". Honestly, I cannot get enough of driving it. This past weekend was the first weekend and I made the wife so happy as I drove her around wherever she wanted to go (shopping, salon, etc...), just so that I could drive the car. I did not care where I was going.

Quick question for everyone...there is so much discussion on the octane of gas to put into the car. I know the manual states premium, the dealer says regular, what is everyone using and why???

Thanks
Mike
