Coming from an S2000

Just recently purchased a 2008 Blue Slate G37S coupe a few days ago and wanted to introduce myself.

I sold my S2000 to get the G37S and while I'll miss it's fun rawness, I needed something comfier and more practical without sacrificing too much LOL.

Very nice! Welcome on board

How do both cars compare in your opinion?

I do plan on making an S2K my project car in the future

To have an S2 and a G37... that would be too perfect! Lol.

I would have to say that the S2000 is straight out loud and raw. You hear everything, from the engine to the tires. I had a few mods (4.77 gears made the car so fun!) which made it even louder and faster. After you go row through the gears, every manual out there sucks compared to it. Incredibly quick turn ins, fun fun shifter, and feeling the kick back at 6000 rpm all the way to 9000 while the wind is in your hair...

Comparing it to the G: The G feels much faster overall in a straightline, and the turn in almost feels as quick. You do feel the weight of this car though... and the brake pedal just doesn't feel as communicative. The S2's steering felt more direct (though there wasn't too much feedback) and the S2 definitely responded to turns better.

I'll miss that car... maybe after I pay off the G, I may pick up an AP1 again. The regular AP1 does feel slow but with 4.77 gearing, it's just incredibly fun!

Welcome

Welcome to the forum.

I personally was between getting an S2K and a G37 and finally the G won but I must say, I had an S2K beat my *** on the highway last month, only to find out later that it was turbo charged

Congrats, and welcome to the forum. I've got both a G and an S2K as well. While they are both really fun cars to drive, nothing beats the rawness and nimbleness of the S2K.

RX8 is a 4 door s2k... with less power.

Thought you wanted mpg/reliability

You talk to Javier about the s/c my00?
