New G37S and 1st time Infiniti owner!

Hey All,

Seems no matter what I do, I end up getting on one of these forums for all my special interests! (boat, cars, snowmobile, radar detector, etc, etc). So here's one for my newest addiction... my G37S

To make a short story long................. Had a pretty heavily mod'ed '02 V6 Accord EX for the past 6yrs and started getting the newer car itch over a year ago. Was really torn between some American V8 muscle - CTS-V, 'Stang GT, GTO, 'Vette, etc; or something along the lines of a 350z, G35, 350is, or older BMW M3. Finally decided to wait 'til the spring......

Well, so much for that idea...
I just picked up my Athens blue G37S last Saturday - so here I am.

I stumbled across an '08 6MT G37S on ebay about 2 wks ago and it was at a local Dodge dealer out of all places. It's got every option except AWAS (Premium, Tech & Nav pkgs; rear spoiler, illum kick plates, trunk mat & net). Went to take it for a test drive, and became an Inifiti owner an hour later. Car was super clean and the dealer ended up making me offer I could not refuse!!!

Got the car for about $5k under NADA/KBB wholesale, and got almost private party value on my Accord EX as a trade. Only thing wrong with the car was the front tires were pretty worn on the insides, so I got the dealer to spring for an alignment and a full set of Yoko S Drives all the way around. Throw in 4.79% financing - how could I possibly say no....

Picked the car up last Saturday - in the snow..

Remote start is being installed as a write this (Compustar makes a great one for MT's). M27 laser Blinder just came in the mail today; and my new 18" Weapons and Blizaks came in yesterday & are going on the car tonight.

I figure mod's will wait 'til spring. I'm thinking of keeping it pretty basic - exhaust (HFC's & cat back), and cold air intake. I had put Eibach springs, Koni adjustable struts, and Eibach sway bars on the Accord; but really don't see the need for 'em on the G.

Oh - can't forget the tints too

I'm sure you'll be hearing plenty from me and I'm looking forward to being part of the forums! I'll try to get some pic's & put 'em up soon..

Finally took some pic's of the G today. The wheels are a set of 18" MB Weapons I bought as part of a snow tire package - factory 19's will go back on in the spring.

Nice car and a great colour! The rims don't appeal to me but as winter rims they are nicer than most.

Athens blue is a good color. I like my blue slate, but I can see picking that in a couple years. And the rims work well enough for your winter tires. Enjoy the car!

The G37 coupe is such a great looking car even those wheels look great on it. They give it a sort of nostalgic look the old Porche 928 used to have. I think it is a perfect choice for a cold season. Greetings from Florida.

Those 18" wheels are not bad looking for a winter setup; what size tires are you using, they look kind of high profile?

They are 245/45/18's so they are very close in overall diameter to the stock tires on the S, and the sidewall is a little lower than the 225/50 most people run

Running the 245's instead of 225/50's still allows me to run staggered rims (8" frt, 9" rear) so it keeps the stance much closer to the stock 19's and the handling seems way better than the 225/50 Blizzaks I originally had on the car. And I can still have the tires themselves rotated (though obvious they'll have to switch them on the rims.)
