Welcome this Newb...

CLIFFS: GM owner that wanted a G8 but is going to cross over to the other side because he likes the G37.

So I've got the bug again to buy a new car, but not sure when I'll be doing it. I've been a big GM fan most my life and have been pursuing a new G8 GT over the past weeks because of the supposed deals out there. After talking to a bunch of dealers who act like GM is in great shape so they don't offer any deals, I test drove the G8. I wasn't very impressed since all I was reading about from other G8 owners is how great this car was. Compared to my current G6 (FTL), yea it was nice. But I was ready for something.....different.

My GF has an IS350 that she picked up a few months back. I've driven it a few times and man does it feel nice. The quality of the interior really impressed me.

Since then i've been opening up my mind a little bit and considering crossing over to 'the other side'. My family in Detroit will probably disown me, but I really want something 'different' from what i'm used to.

Thats when I started noticing the G37. Fine looking automobile with the quality and luxury i'm interested in.

So my journey begins here like any other big purchase I make. I'll do a ton of reading, start test driving some cars, and figure out exactly what I want. Then comes the decisions:

1. New or Used. I love a new car. I like being the only owner since i'm **** about the maintenance and upkeep. Ecspecially the paint. But the depreciation can be FTL.

2. Sedan or Coupe. I have a 2 y/o daughter so having 4 doors is nice. Both are sexy cars so i'll be happy either way. But i've never owned a sporty coupe and feel like its my time.

3. Now or Then. Do I jump now, take an upside down depreciation hit on my G6, and get the Infiniti. Or do I wait a few years, pay down the G6 more, and save for a better down payment.

I look forward to browsing this board and know there are people like me that everytime I see one of your cars on the road.

Hey, welcome to myg37!

The G is an awesome car.. i love mine. I have a cousin who is deeply into domestic cars. He liked the G8's, GTO's, and VXR8's lol. If the VXR8 came here to america, i think id seriously consider one myself. .they are hardcore.

Anyways, goodluck on your decision to come over to the..import side! lol

Some used G37's I've seen are in pretty good/like new shape. So it all depends on you.

The back seat is pretty comfortable for a 2 year old so you shouldn't be worried about that one lol
