A new G37xS owner joins the ranks
Greetings,
I'm excited to report that I finally picked up my new G37xS Sedan, black on black.
After one short evening of driving I've already chewed through a half a tank of gas.
I'm hoping the fuel economy improves after the break in. I find it a real drag to be forced to keep the RPM below 4-5K for the next 2000km. I don't know if I have that much patience in me.

It's nice to finally be a real "card carrying member' of the myg37.com community!

So far my only mod (if you can even call it that) is to get the windows tinted (22%).
I've been unable to restrain myself completely on the break-in recommendations. The G is just too much fun - I've had to drop the hammer. I gotta tell you, I have a grin on my face everytime I drive this car. The power is awesome, the cornering is sublime, and the looks are like a fine lady. Alas, like a fine lady, she's costing me though.
That gas just likes to evaporate.
I had one small problem in my first week, and it sounds like it might be similar to a problem I read in another thread in this forum. On Monday morning when I started her up, I noticed a very rough idle. After I got going it smoothed out some, but then on acceleration the engine "stumbled" (or lurched). Eventually the engine light came on flashing. I pulled over, restarted, and the light was gone, but the stumbling problem on acceleration repeated itself. Thankfully my dealer is on my way to work so I pulled in.
Turns out this is a problem they've seen before. They reset settings in the ECU for some air intake sensor/valve (I can't recall the specific name but I wrote it down at the office). After that the problem couldn't be reproduced. After talking to the Infiniti Tech Line they learned that similar problems have been reported elsewhere as well and the recommended solution is to replace the sensor/valve in question (it was the part reported by the ECU when my engine light came on, btw). I get the new part installed next Tuesday. No complaints on the service - they were great about it. The loaner was nice.
This may also explain some of the poor fuel economy I've been getting as well (e.g. 14-15 litres/100km (16mpg) in city, 9.5 litres/100km (25mpg) on highway). I don't have enough driving since the reset of the ECU to report if it's helped yet.
Anyway, a great car, loving it. The tint really makes the chrome pop with the black paint. The AWD is amazing on the corners, even on wet roads. I only made it slip once.

Congrats on the purchase
