I am sorry to say but even in my first year I thought the same way, once the college work load starts to pick up and you start taking some harder classes, it would be kicking your BUTT!

I also went to a community college right after high school and thought the same as you. But eventually this stuff caught up to me because of my lack of work ethics. It's just this one semester/quarter that you are saying but you don't know what's in hold for you the next semester or quarter.

Ultimately, it's your decision, we can't tell you what to do. I am just warning you, you will become ADDICTED to this car and modding once you get it. My GPA went from a 4.0 to a 3.6 ever since I got my car, sad I know...

I saw this sexy white G on the road the other day in Brooklyn. It was hot!! Tinted white angel eye headlights, and the front Mt. Fugi logo was painted white

I'm not saying I'm not going to take your advice, I just want to see how things kick off within the next couple of months for me, and how 2009 will kick off. Thanks for the advice guys. Your alot easier on me than the other forum I'm on lol. They really don't look at it from a G37 lovers point of view if you know what I mean lol. So they wouldn't understand.

Hey, there is no rush... take your time =)

if you do decide to get the car and mod, I suggest the Iron-man and paint the housing by Igor

Just right now I'm going to continue with school, and pray to God I can find a job. Just for fun, I've been screwing with my moms Quest and did a few mods myself but nothing to heavy cause it's just a mini-van lol and it's hers. IMO it's actually pretty cool for a mini-van.

Not that I even would at the moment, but how much do you think I would be looking at on leasing a fully loaded G? And how much money would I need upfront?

You have 50k+ in your savings? If you're buying, I'm sure you can get some great deals in this economy. Nissan/Infiniti sales are down 39% this month. They'll need the income.

Go for it!

Wow, I couldn't have imagined having a car like this when I was in college. I had a Mazda 323 for undergrad and then when I was in grad school got a Civic. I actually had 3 Civics during my 10 years (4 degrees) in college. Sure, I would have loved a car like thing, but I knew it wasn't even remotely realistic. It wasn't until I had a real job that I considered my G35. I know you want the car and don't want to hear our fatherly advice, and that it sucks that you want it, but unless you're rolling in the money during college somehow I'd go for something closer to the Civic, unless you can find a great deal on a used G.

If you can buy the G outright a PT job should be able to cover the cost of ownership of the car.

delayed gratification... that's what it's called, be comfortable and get the civic or something else... focus on school and in the long run, it'll be better until you can easily afford the G or any other nicer car...
