I am looking to get a G Sport Coupe 6mt . I would need it to be a dd and in Wisconsin it may be difficult.I am looking for a winter set up. What would be the narrowest wheels i could put on and clear the calipers. Doubt 17's would fit but 18 is the largest i would go.
I looked at the winter wheel post but it went from informational to stupid fast.

And if any one is from TT.net, Because regular Gs are slow, I'm building a flying one

I highly doubt 17s would fit, but you can try the 5 spoke 350Z 18s. I know a member here used them for his track wheels and they fit.

Well as a DD in Wisconsin, I don't think the G would be too good of a choice, summer you'd be fine. Winter you'd need the G37x with AWD most likely. But I think Audi or something similar if you're looking luxury would be a better bet. Quattro is made specifically for crap weather. My old A4 used to truck it through the ice and snow, never needing my cables.
I love my G37 but, I'm even leary about it in rain, I couldn't imagine daily driving through what some of your guys winters are like. But if you are set on it, the G is a great vehicle I haven't had many issues with mine. Nice and powerful, even though you seem to think it needs a TT, 500 whp in ice can't be that fun?

I've got 18" aftermarket wheels and Vrederstein snow tires on my G and it did outstanding in the snow in Wisconsin last year. It did much better than all of the FWD cars (with traction controls and vehicle stability controls) that I have had. I was very happy with it. Its sitting in Glendale right now at the dealership, waiting for a hard drive and getting the winter wheels installed- I can let you know what size i'm running when I get it back.

thanks. I drove my TT300zx for like 5 blocks in the snow when i was caught off guard. I had my summer tires on and it sucked.

I'm out of Chicago and i have a 6mt. I have a beater for the winter(saturn sl2) and use the G for when the streets are clear. In my area there is really hill ridden subdivisions, so the g turns into a sled when going downhill when there is snow or ice on the road. The summer tires have little traction in icey conditions. Thought about getting blizzacks, but I'd rather just have a beater on hand to keep salt and grime off the car.
