New G37S Owner
New G37S Owner
I just wanted to say hi to all of you.
I join your ranks as a proud owner of a new G37S in Platinum graphite. I didn't opted for the Technology package as I wasn't too keen on the 4 wheel active steering.
I have been driving this car for about a month and I absolutely love it. Although, I'm a bit worried about the upcoming winter, a few years back I bought a 1996 Trans Am and that was an absolute pain to drive in the snow. I eventually traded that in for a 2002 Accord EX V6 which did well in the snow [without snow tires]
I seriously considered the Altima coupe in V6 format but i just couldn't accept any substitute to the G
Right now, I'm still debating whether to get a "Winter Beater" or a set of snow tires and wheels it seem to cost about the same less the beater's eventual maintenance.

Throw some winter wheels and snow tires on it and you'll be fine. Mine did fine with winter wheels and snow tires this past winter, during a record setting snowfall year. (Hopefully I never see another flake of snow)
Welcome to the forum!
Good thing you didn't get the Altima - after having a leased G35 coupe, I thought I would be happy with the Altima coupe 3.5L. Took me 3 months before I traded it in for a second G.....
The funny thing is, when I went back to the Nissan dealer to cancel my GAP,
the finance guy gave me a high five when he found out what I bought!

Hey amn where in Canada are you from? I put a set of 18" Alpin pilots (Michelin) on it for the Edmonton winter and it works great. The first weekend i had it it snowed and i had the summers on it still . It did fine in the 5-10 cm of snow we had and the 70KM drive from the city to my house. I would recomend winters though.
Whoa
That's an overwhelming response in favor of winter tires as opposed to getting a "winter beater".
So winter tires it is then
Thanks guys !
BiskitG37: I knew it. I actually decided that I'd sooner buy a used G35 coupe or continue sticking with my Accord than settle for the Altima. Getting the Altima really just wouldn't be the same. The thing that absolutely bothered me was its aesthetics. The grill had that cheesy "unpainted" rubbery look. Overall it looks like a cheap G35 "bootleg"
shumby: Hi, I'm from Ontario I'll probably start shopping around for 18" Alpine pilots (Michelin) in September. Hopefully we'll get a milder winter this year to compensate for the harsh one we had last year. Thanks man.

hi i just got my g37s couple days ago in the same color! I do have one question for some reason everytime when i finish driving the car it has a burning smell im not sure why if you know why that would be great! thanx
Congrats on your purchase.
Yeah, mine had that "burning smell" when I was breaking it in. Smelled sort of like burning soldering lead?
I think that's normal, now that I've broken 2000 km I don't smell it anymore.
