Hi Everyone,
I purchased my G37S-5AT-(VR/Graphite)- Top of the line (All packages included).
It's my first coupe and I still turn around to look at it after I park. It's been a month now and i've put around 3800 miles on it. I love the look of the sports package with the 19inch rims! very hot! The enterior is pretty cool too. Way better looking than a BMW. And I have a BMW!
I'm one of the first in Dubai (UAE) to take delivery of the G37S. They only started selling them here early March 2008! (the dealer here only imports the "S" model with a 5AT).
Is there anyone from the UAE on this forum?? Would like to compare notes.
As far as im concerned i'm satisfied with the car. However a few quirks I've come across are:
1. Click, Click, Click, Click sounds from under the hood that comes and goes. The dealer said it had to do with the AC, and it's ok. However i'm not happy about it.
2. Trying to adjust the seat when the door is closed! I scratched the aluminum door handle with my steel watch trying to move the seat. I was pissed!
3. I'm not convinced about the Active Steering, it keeps on changing the ratios and messing with my head. I believe it makes the car understeer more than usual.
4. I don't have power folding side mirrors! I don't know why, is it the same in the US??? WTF??
5. I hear slight buffering (Wind noise) at highway speeds comming from the rear of the drivers window. Im not sure if thats normal or not.
6. Passenger seat squeeks when I drive over a bumpy road.
Other than that car is a beast!

Hey man congrats on the new ride. I live in Canada but work in Qatar and train in Dubai from time to time.
to answer a few of your questions.
1. Not normal keep taking it back until they fix it.
If you can hear it from the inside and notice that it increases with RPM check out the TSB section here as there is a fix for it.2. We all got thiss issue.
Handel is easily scratched. Try a scotch bright pad on it to get it to look like the washi trim or paint it to mach interior or cover it with the same material as a clear bra. They cost about $40 a pop in canada to order replacement ones. 3. Only option I do not have so no comment.
4. None have this option as far as I know.
5. Mines pretty quiet
6. Again take it to the dealer and get it looked at This is the first I heard on this board about a squeeky seat. Not normaal make them fix it.

As far is the prices and specs for the car in Dubai they are:
1. Only the 'S' model is sold with 5AT. (Premium, sport, Nav, packages only) No technology package available at this time.
2. Interior color is limited to Graphite for now.
3. Price of the car in USD is $51,000 (Not including licensing, registration, or Insurance, No TAX here
). There are rumors that the delaer might bump the price to $52,300 or even $55,000
4. Comprehensive insurance coverage here is around $3,300 per year (depending on age, history,...etc).
These might change in the near future since the car was officially launched in early-mid March 2008. I purchased mine in Mid April. Waiting period is 3-5 weeks depending on the color.
I'm not sure how to load pics on this site. I registered for premier membership a few days ago, so far nothing happened. The car is basically stock, with 20%v-Kool tint. Interior is Graphite/Aluminum.
Modifications will come, but im in no hurry.

2. Oh yeah that's very annoying. Gotta have girly hands or something to fit your hands through the tiny space. I don't wear a watch often so I don't have the "scratching" issue. Thats what cellphones are for :P
3. Don't have the Active Steering so I can't relate.
4. Hmm nope, I don't think any of them have it.
5. I've heard some people complain about it, but I really don't hear it on mine. I have taken mine up to 80mph thus far and all I hear is the sweet sound of the 3.7liter engine. VROOM!
6. Oh! Is that what the squeeking/rattling was? I hear it about 1 week after I got the car...for about maybe 1 minute. Then it went away....300+ miles later, haven't heard it yet.
