Hey Now

Hello fellow fans. Purchased an Ivory Pearl G37S, 6MT, Premium, Navigation, Splash Guards and Illuminated kick panels. I'm 59 years old and the last time I had a manual transmission was in a new '67 GTO I had in college as a graduation present. Then came marrige and family and you know the rest. Now, it's just me and my wife, and I got something I've missed for years. I fumbled around a bit with the 6 speed the first day, mostly going up the hills in the SF bay area, but I feel long dormant talents coming back to life. I love it. One question; the shifter is occasionally hard to push down for reverse. Most of the time it's fine. Anyone else experience this?

Just make sure you push and hold the stick down before going into reverse. You probably know this but just in case you didn't. If you don't push down enough it can be rough getting into Reverse.

Yea I'm pissed I didn't get them either.. but it wasn't a option when I bought my car, they weren't out yet. But to answer your question, yes you can order them through your local infiniti dealer. I don't remember exactly how much but I think they are about $175

@ Ol'G37 congrats on the purchase! I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Thanks

Thanks for the tips. The reverse shift seems to be getting easier. It's either the car or me. Probably me getting used to it. What a car! When I'm going somewhere I don't what to stop, just keep going.

Illuminated Kick plates

The illuminated kick plates were put on at the Infinity "Port of Entry" in LA. I ordered the car from an incoming production shipment list (just changed the color to I.P) without the kick plates, but they were put on in LA anyway. I like them, just something to make the things more interesting. I miss my old GTO, but when I stick my foot into it, this does satisfy the hunger.

welcome and congrats!

nice to finally see someone older than me here...(I'm late 40's)

used to have a 65 Vette before I got married...you can guess what happened to that...can you say house down payment?

Anyway this car has rekindled that feeling of raw power but is so much more sophisticated...I'm sure you're the same way with yours compared to the goat...

just watch your speed...this thing doesn't feel as fast as it's actually going...

Thanks, good advice. We forget the draw-backs of the old muscle cars like mine: Marginal suspension, poor brakes, little or no safety features, tendency to fly off the road at high speed, 12 mpg or less. Happy to have a G37.

We should have an over 40 forum.

yes...when I got done driving my Vette...it felt like I had just gone through a workout...the non-power steering was fun...well maybe fun isn't the word...maybe more like a wrestling match....with a steering wheel about 2 feet in diameter....

that thing was rough as he!!...but was sooo fast...didn't handle worth a crap though...darn near spun it a couple times

over 40 forum?...why?...so the two of us can talk to each other?... ....hahahahaha
