former STI owner here

Hello!

Now have a platinum graphite G37S with everything except the spoiler. Used to have an AW 06 STI. Love everything but miss the headroom.

Welcome - former STi owner here as well - had a Cobb Stage 2 with 290whp, 322wtrq.

Regarding the handling, I felt more confident at the edge with the STi, I would go into corners on freeway exit/entrance ramps like a raped ape.

good to see that I'm not the only former STI guy around but handling can't be compared yet - I'm still breaking it in, and it's full stock - the STI had 245's all around with RT 615s - the chassis feels stiffer though, and I like the feel of 4AWS, but the car seems larger and heavier

i think since you have 4WAS its not really going to be a fair comparison... I have done a few canyon runs with an 06 STI with some brand new tires and i was ALL over him... And he is running an FP green turbo so he had WAYY more power but he could never pull on me... if i was infront i would have been pulling away

he has launch control and launches at 10psi so i wouldnt even try. It was from rolls and he was not on race gas... car may not be running at 100%

STi on a greenie should have no problem dusting even a modded G37 any day of the week unless the guy cant drive it right.

My Stg II WRX wagon felt faster in some aspects than the G, and if driven right, there were not many cars that could beat me from a dig or in the canyons, I had a very nice suspension package on it and new Goodyear F1GS-D3s

well it was on his low boost setting... he is stock suspension and it was in the twisties... if he was on race gas he would embarrass me... love that car. To bad it breaks all the damn time... hes switching for the red soon He loves his scooby.... lol

Just got my G37S baseline done recently, and thought it would be interesting to compare my 06 STI baseline numbers (same dyno):

06 STI: 230 whp - 240 wtq
08 G37s: 261 whp - 211 wtq

-done at sea level with GST's mustang dyno
-basically confirms my from-the-seat feelings:
stock STI faster from the stop and on the street; stock G37 faster on the freeway
