Autoweek bashing 4g eclipse
its sort of rare for magazines to openly criticize a new car so much,

The report sounds about right. This is the first year of this gen though, I'm sure things will get a little better. They're also supposed to be coming out with a high version (maybe rallyart) w/ AWD. I think that could be a seller, may give the EVOs and STis something to worry about. We shall see...
PS I still don't like the interior.

Im not too crazy about either the interior or exterio, but it is unique and I give them cudos for that.
I dont like the fact of putting a really decent motor in there with a soft suspension. I would have to feel the 6spd tranny to know what they are talking about with it. our peak torque is in the 4 thousands too right?

It didn't seem that bad of a review. I mean mitsu dropped the ball on this eclipse, it's obvious all the owners love it since they obviously liked it enough to buy one..haha. I do agree with all the bad point although they give much mroe credit towards the exterior looks than I would of myself.

3.8L SOHC V6. The engine isnt tuned very well.. usually a sport tuned OHC engine is making a lot more hp than torque. max torque comes at 4500 and max hp comes at 5750 redline is probably around 6000 rpm. yet outputs the same torque as our engine. they might as well put it in a truck.
then theres the massive torque steer, and understeer and soft suspension. thats a far cry from its competitors like rsx-s, civic si, wrx etc.
it dosnt matter neways because 80% of them sold are going to have the I4 engine option, a pretty good sporty looking alternative to civic coupe and scion tC...
