OMG someone's trying to steal my wheels
It was a good day today so I washed and waxed my car. Then I took some time to wheel wax the wheels. This is when I noticed that ALL FOUR WHEEL LOCKS on my wheels were GONE. WTF!?!? I can't tell if someone is trying to take my wheels at school (UMCP) or my part time job at Red Lobster... I was freaking out... so pissed right now. Fortunately, I was able to order some Gorilla wheel locks from www.wheelsdirectonline.com and should have them in 3 business days. I heard good things about Gorilla wheel locks so I hope it's all good. They're going to need the key for all 20 lugs now, so those bastards better give up. OMG had to vent..
Why would someone bother taking off the wheel locks and then give up when all that was left was regular lugs? When was the last time your car was serviced? Maybe the shop forgot to put the locks back on because they forgot where they put your locks' key?

ya i agree with vic...i highly doubt someone would go 'just' for the locks...unless of course they tried the hardest first then it took so long they gave up..lol. most likely the shop that put em on didnt tighten them (aka lost ur key as vic said) or just never put em on. In addition when someone steals your wheels with locks they dont remove the locks....they take the studs w/ the locks. worst case: someone at the dealership (if you took your car in with the wheels) saw your wheels and sold someone a copy of your wheel lock (this can be done by simply providing your VIN #). with your VIN # the person was able to get a replica key to your wheel lock. perhaps while trying to remove your locks he was interupted and decided to try and come back later. either way id be paranoid as hell (i wake up almost every 2 hrs for some weird reason just to push my 'activate alarm/door lock' button every night...
just be careful, take the sentra out, dont leave the G for more than a few hrs b/c chances are the person will be back IF in fact its not just negligence on shop/dealers part....
btw you just had shocks/springs installed...maybe they forgot to put locks back on...??

I was driving around with 4 lugs on all four wheels. I definitely had the wheel locks on the car when I got the car back from the dealership last friday. I have no idea why they would not take the wheels after taking the 4 wheel locks off, but I am very fortunate that they didn't for whatever reason. I was able to get some spare lug nuts from the nissan dealer and put them on for now. I am going to have to drive my car to school tomorrow and I am going to try to park in between two cars (which i never do). Other than that, I'm going to have to keep the car garaged until the Gorillas get here.. :X sucks too now that the weather got all nice here..

that makes a lot of sense, it is confusing that they wouldn't have taken the wheels. The shocks/springs, I had done at my friend's shop and I torqued down all the nuts with an air gun, so I'm sure they were fine. However, last week my car was at the dealership for some rattling issues and my sunroof making weird noises. I see no reason why they would have to take the wheels off, I will have to call them tomorrow. Unfortunately, tomorrow my sentra is in the shop for a tune-up.. :X gosh.. how stressful

but man i cant believe your gonna take the car to school...might not b a good idea esp. if this person removed the locks while you were at school.
the rattling issue you had was it for the rear axle clicking?? or was it for like the inside panels?? you wouldnt be surprised the kinds of things dealerships do...you go in for an oil change and find out they changed the car to RHD...lol j/k

haha, the rattling was for some inside panels, really no reason for them to take off the wheels. I will have to make sure tomorrow. Yea, I am paranoid as hell about taking the car to school tomorrow, but I have no other choice.. :X
doesn't make sense....why they would only take the wheel locks? naw... you steal each rim individually... if u take off one wheel lock..you will take off the rest of the of the lugs on that wheel off as well. I highly doubt they took off all the locks first.
Maybe the shop put on all the wheel lugs and hand screwed the wheel locks on planning to get the key and torque them. Unfortunately the dumbass forgot and your wheel locks came off while driving. It might be hard to believe but more logical than some random person jacking your wheel locks.
