Yeah what's up with that hood scoop and huge wing in the back? Are they really necessary? I see the need for the hood scoop with the placement of the intercooler and all...but for me, I wouldn't want or need a wing that big.

 

its fully functional, its not just there to look rice.

 

yes...if you're gonna race at high speeds you'll need it for downforce. Or your **** will be flying off the road...

 

I hope u didn't get the new STI with the top mount intercooler design...geez... i hate that... its stupid imo to sit your intercooler on top of your engine...

 

All STI's, in fact all turbo'ed subarus utilize that TMIC. Of course you can change to a FMIC if you wanted to.

the earlier versions of the STI or the previous version was FMIC.

 

What year? I remember the 98 STI having a TMIC. A friend had one. Was there an earlier STI?

what?? are you sure.... Im pretty positive I've seen STI on the street with FMIC. I've seen them on the street.. and in videos... Big front mount intercoolers..unless they were modded to FMIC?

 

I thought they were all TMIC - hence the large hoodscoops?

 

the one's w/ an FMIC have been modded. only STI's I have seen w/ IC's stock are all under the hood...

 

waaaah..i swear i've seen them with the FMIC and the intercoolers had "STI" across it in red...

 

you thought wrong. they are all top mounted.
