wow, congrats. I am tempted to do the same thing but I'm going to hold out to see if they offer DSG style trans for the 2007. I'd prefer that to classic manual trans for a daily driver.
fwiw mine is an '04.5 and the update noticeably improved the shifting 'brain'.
