For Those of you with 5-wedge Matrix LED's

Hey guys, just wanted to tell you about what happened with my bulb(s). I ordered and bought the 5-wedge LED's for my clearance strips. Thanks to Devon for the install. Anyway, tonight while I was out, my friend who was driving next to me said that my light was flickering on and off. So we pull over at the 7/11 and my driver side clearance light (the 5-LED bulb) was flickering on and off like a damn strobe light, then it just went off, and flickered again. My passenger side one is fine with no problems. Did anyone else experience this problem? I'll probably email autoluminations about it, and just buy another bulb, but just thought u guys should know.

LOL, that are gansta call sign, we ride with one side strobing. I had that happen to every set I use. It seem John other had goodluck with whatever LED they're using. I get mine from superbrightled.com or something like that and they usually last a couple of months. My liscene plate lights went out too. I think that happen with LED is one would burn out then they start strobing, then they just die. I heard somewhere that you shouldn't put LED near halogen because the heat would kill the LED. Can't confirm that but i do know that I went through 2 sets on my clearance with the same problem and my rear liscene plate dies pretty fast also. I think I might just buy a big bulk cuz it's like $3-5 a piece which isn't bad. Welcome to the club Jim

I might go back to the regular bulbs, doesn't seem ike the clearance strip and rear liscense plate likes LED very well. Side marker have been fine.

I bought bulbs from superbrighleds. I'm using the matrix 5-led for corners and license plate area and 9-led for clearance. I had the same problem from bulbs I bought at autollumination. They flickered then died. I compared the two products the the ones from superbrightled look like they are made better. I will keep you updated but so far so good.

for some reason, i don't trust matrix for parts. they just seem synonymous with apc to me.

I dont think matrix bulbs are made by "Matrix". I think its just a nickname for how they solder the little leds (in a matrix). My conclusions, while unproven, are that the LEDs are bought and soldered either by the companys retailing the bulbs or by other companies. The autollumination bulbs are definately built differently than the superbrightleds.

I hope to get my 6led bulbs in from superbrightleds.com soon. Too bad the 9 led ones are too long I was gonna stick those puppies in.
