Black Ice
Black Ice
I woke up this morning and decided to head in a little later after the sun came out expecting the roads melted but found the car iced over in a very thin layer of ice. While the roads look somewhat dry and clear, it was all iced over and pretty interesting trying to climb a 200 yd slope. Driving from VA to MD to work this morning, I was amazed at the type of cars on the road considering the conditions. I saw a brand new Vette, SL 500, a few 350Z on stock tires driving around. Sure the main roads were clear by 8am but the sides roads were still slick at that time. I hope none of you had to go from MD to VA this morning. Traffic was backed up from Tysons Corner all the way pass Germantown, MD this morning. All 4-5 lanes were packed for 20+ miles.
I went from MD to VA this morning. 2+ hours. Yup. You wonder why I got an automatic!!! I drove by the FedEx truck as they were pulling the driver out of it (He died on impact). Pretty sad to see. Makes you think twice about driving and what can happen at any second. The FedEx driver died too because a pick up truck went over some ice and lost control and ran into him.
I heard about the accident but wasn't sure what caused it. By the looks of it, I'm sure a ton of people were stuck on I-270/495 for a while. Sad to see such an accident since the guy was probably just transporting holiday gifts.
i slipped so many times just walking on campus today, luckily i didnt fall, but it was like ice skating. our campus is huge too, just walking from my car to the classroom is like 20min.
