MREV "1st Impression"
MREV "1st Impression"
Well I've had it on my car a day now, and I can honestly say I diffentilty FEEL the TQ. I went out today to burn some gas (and tires) and the engine is louder...my wife and I went out to breakfast and she was like "were you revving your engine or something when you went to park the car?" I told her know I was just pulling into a parking spot. She said the exhaust is louder....??? Not quite sure why, but hey I like it. The car accelerates much quicker....I'm trying to be as objective as possible, but it's hard to do right now because the car is VERY different. John I can't wait till you drive this...I really think you will be amazed. I am almost tempted to give you a half car lengh in a breif display of driving ability (race). Like I posted before I will be Dynoing Friday again to see the actual results.
Now for the install.......It was simple for the most part. I had a problem arise though. As stated by others, using stainless steel bolts on aluminum block doesn't mix well. I tottaly pulled the thread off one hole. Luckily for me the hole went all the way through. So I simply went to the hardware store and purchased a longer bolt with a nut. A friend of mine and I might try to Hellicoil (sp) it later though. The reason I found it was after the install the car was making an extremely loud screech noise, kind of like a belt slipping. Turns out it was the plenum pulling air from the weak spot that I used the new bolt on. Everything is fine now and the car runs good. It idles a lil rough, but that is the computer trying to compensate for the new air mixture. If anyone wants to drive it just let me know....and I'll let you take it around a block or two. NO dinner stops!!!
That's it for now, can't wait till Skyline now!!!
