lol john thats what they say just to get you to buy the item....lol headers are a pain to install. we had trouble getting in a clearance bulb, just imagine headers loool. no but crawfords DO require engine to be lifted, however other brands generally may not. It's just hella easier cause as devon mentioned there is no room to remove the bolts...good luck, maybe post a DIY lol

The crawford headers were the biggest pain in the *** ever. One reason is because they are so damn wide. Me and 3 friends tried doing mine, after 2 months we gave up (actual work time consisted of 4 full saturdays). So my car was out of commision for a bit.

If you go with smaller headers you could prolly DIY, it would save you $500+. However, just be prepared to have most of your engine taken apart, so dont count on it taking just one day.

As for gains, my car dynod at 260 off the crank after all my exhaust mods. I think thats like 30rwhp over stock? not too bad, but yeah, FI would be more bang for the buck.

Stillen race pipes wouldn't drop backpressure too much? I'n FL there is no requirement for cats...also on a FI would the pipes need to be removed? Just a little worried about the sound changing removing the cats and putting straight pipes , sometimes it produces a raspy sound

just to add my .02........i installed DC headers myself and it was a PITA.....took the entire weekend to get the job done, however, i was on my back with the car on ramps.....there is no way a header install on the g will be easy, unless you pay someone else to do it! ...but i saved $100's doing it myself....

now for the gains......i have headers, high flow cats and dual injen exhaust and the gains are there......i can now spin the tires on my AT from a stop and the car pulls very hard all the way through the gears.....i cannot justify these gains with before and after dynos, and it wouldnt matter anyway, cause almost every post ive seen the dynos get shot down for 1 reason or another....

but the sound is awesome guys! i love to start my car and listen to that exhaust note ........no raspy sound either

headers can be a good addition to your g for performance and esthetic gains....... you can save a few bucks buying DC headers (or look alikes) and DIY th install........IMO the headers are worth it.......

only 100 bucks for installation?
i dont know how PITA to install headers but 100 bucks for installation isnt too bad...
well it's matter of who does the installation tho.
i guess it's worth every penny when you install it by yourself.

nah, Im sure with the rate of about 80 bucks an hour around here. you will end up shelling out 3-400 in labor.
