2-way radios. If you got some PLEASE post up - this is for August 13th

Thinking about the trek up there, it would be great if we all had 2-way radios or if most of us did. I believe there are multi-channel ones where we can all be in on the same channel.

Does anyone have any 2-way radios to possibly bring for the trip? Or if someone has some we can borrow.

If not, maybe we can all find a deal locally and purchase some for those interested? I personally would like to be able to communicate during the ride and cell phones just aren't convenient like 2 -ways.

Anyone have any advice on this subject?? Hopefully someone has some we can share though - that would be awesome. We will need a bunch though so if we can pool together that would be great too if we have to share!

Let us all know.

On a side note I came across these. Is this a good deal? It uses batteries and it may eat them but its not bad for $20 for a pair is it?

pratik, do you have a phone list in case someone happens to get lost? say, like, going to the HIN pre-show and missing the first meeting point.

Yeah, as you can imagine I have a lot on my plate right now but even getting numbers from everyone is a difficult thing to do. I'll try and send out a message for people to send me their phone number so we dont have any problems on the 13th. I thought the 2-ways would still be a good idea and a lot better than cell phones to communicate quicker.

the 2 way's are a good idea. for any future drives/meets they are a good means of communication. i recall one crazy drive i had w/ the 350z guys most of them had radios to communicate....plus whats $10 when you think of how often your gonna use it on drives/meets?!?!

Yeah I'm down with anyone that wants to split one with me. Thing is maybe we should all get the same kind so we can ensure we can all communicate on the same channel? I've had some $hitty 2 ways in the past where you couldnt get more than 4-5 peeps on a channel. Hopefully the technology has improved.

I'm down but I'm gonna try to get one I can change signals on so I can chat with everyone. Norm I'll have directions printed out for the meet so you can follow me if you want man. Due to my ticket I can't go too fast anyway.

how about everyone just change their subscriber to NEXTEL and we can all direct connect for free all the way up to the meet?? is that asking for too much???

in case anyone else has nextel, i can post my ID so they can DC me...i have unlimited DC minutes so its all good. I know devon has nextel, i think john does too?!?!

Nah, John's got my phone. haha. Look at you tryin to get peeps to change their cell phones!! Can someone just find a good deal on 2-ways and lets post up who wants one and we'll all just share. I dont mind goin with the Motorola for $25 but the Uniden ones I saw were $20 but Moto may be better. Maybe someone else has a hookup or has access to a bunch of 2-ways maybe we can even borrow. Lets start up a list I guess of peeps that are in for 1 and we can go from there and find a deal:
