Reckless for Byrnie...

So shortly after John passing me on 66 I get pulled over by some redneck cop granted I was in the right-most lane going with traffic but considering I had the nicest car out of everyone I get pulled over. Anyway the bacon-biter proceeds to tell me I was going 79 in a 55 (BULL$HIT). Then right after he pulls me over he looks at my tints...oh yes that's right people mr. piggy got me for that too....and he's like are your tints legal. Of course I tell piglet that they're perfectly stock and he tells me he'll be right back and he gets my tints at 24 percent. I'm thinking to myself holy **** the stock tint is dark. Anyway I've been told by a coworker to not get a lawyer and just tell the judge that you were going with traffic, you were in the right most lane ,and you were going 64 maybe 65 and that I have no idea where the cop got 79 from. What do you think? Help! :-\

It sux byrn, i know wat ur feeling...i got court on august 24th....not looking forward to it. but im a good public speaker so im gonna ask the cop "where were you on the nite" that i was going 52 in a 25!!" If you have not done driving school in the last year you can go to the judge and ask for driving school. Then you just pay the court fee. But you have to give up a saturday to go to a driving class and sit and listen to their BS. You have to pay the fee for that class. Can't remember how much it cost me. If the judge gives you driving school you get no points on your license. If you no show the driving school class then you will have to pay the ticket and the points will count.

You may get lucky and the cop might not show up. If he was a State trooper most likely he will show up.

You see the funny thing is I wasn't even doing anything stupid I was just driving and I wasn't even gaining on him but there was no way he was speeding I don't think. John how fast were you going? I really doubt I was going 79, bunch of B.S.

well look at it this way guys, you took one for the team. if poor john got pulled over they'd prob. make him strip naked, ask him if he has any firearms or drugs, call in SWAT, proceed to perform a cavity search and ask him to walk to manassass for some "breastmilk from a cambodian immigrant" before letting him go!!! So in a way its a good thing John wasnt pulled over!!

cop gave my mom a reckless ticket but she had a clear record before.
judge told my mom that she had a clear record etc so she didnt get reckless!

if you hire someone, it's another 1000...i think. i dont think it's worth any.

sorry to hear about that byrnie.....I don't know what you situation is but local lawyers always know the judges and tend to get off. I suggest getting a lawyer local to the fairfax county who has done a lot of these cases.....my dad has gotten off various tickets 3 times in DC because of a lawyer
