Hey all,
No hijack intended in any way, I just wanted to extend an invite to everyone to come on the group drive out Blueridge parkway, ending up at Breaux Vineyards in NoVA. We're meeting at Evolution Autosports at 1:00 PM, and heading out to do a wine-tasting at the vineyard, probably around 3:00 or so. We'll be taking scenic Rt50 out to Blueridge Parkway, which is a great drive. If you're interested in doing this, there is a post up on my350z.com in the mid-A section. Let us know you're coming. We did this last fall and it was a fun time, and would be a great warm-up to the evening events at Cabin John. I hope some of you guys can make it. Here is a link to the my350z.com thread.... http://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=132149

I'll try to do a better job of remembering to post events like this over here, as the more people on drives the better. Also, for what its' worth, there is a calendar of some of the stuff we've put together at http://www.capitalg35club.com. If someone wants to replicate this info onto the nationalGclub calendar that would be cool.

Peace out!

I was trying not to think of it as "us vs. them", I prefer to think of myself as a car enthusiast first...no need to be nasty. A simple "thanks for the info" would have done it. I'll be sure to refrain from posting in YOUR forum again.

whoa!! cmon guys there's no us vs. them and hopefully it wont ever come to that. Kelly, the guys here are pretty closely knit so they tend to toss jokes around and give everyone a hard time (myself included). Dont mind Lek/mbq, its his Birthday today so he feels like he can step on everyone's toes.... as for myself...i'll be in OC...leaving tomorrow so i wont be able to make the drive, otherwise you know id be first in line!!

ya but we talk $hit to the members we know not just random folks who wander in. im sure if kelly read up on 90% of our threads (which are all useless crap we start cause we're bored) he'll understand this but i dont think its safe to 'assume' every person who posts or reads in our forum knows that. bring em in easy lek, then break em in....

Kelly, I echo Puria's comments. I too hope an "us vs. them" mentality doesn't diminish the camraderie between Z's and G's and our respective clubs. Thanks for posting here and welcoming the G's into what is primarily a Z drive. I enjoyed last year's drive very much, and I would go this Saturday if not for the fact I've set Saturday aside to perform maintenance on the car.

Thanks man. It wasn't really intended to be a primarily a Z drive, although I guess it did develop that way. I think over the last 6 months or so, some of the G guys who were more regular over on the my350z.com site don't visit as much anymore (spending more time here), and I kinda forget that, so I forgot to mention the drive over here earlier.....I like it when the G's and the Z's hang out together, to me it just stands to strengthen the image of both cars.

Anyway, all that aside, maybe before the summer is out, we can arrange something for all of us...What do you think? There's lots of warm weather left.

kelly thanks for posting and i know Vic and myself look forward to more drives with you guys...with or without the rest of the G's. The newer guys (05s+) were lucky in that there was already a base of G's setup once they joined the forums. However I know for a fact myself, Vic and Greg really were the only few to come to join the Z's on their drives in the past from the gdriver website (so far as i know). We learned alot from you guys and this knowledge is what trickles down to others. However, I am the 'I dont forget where I come from' type so I dont want to see any sort of 'beef' develop btw the 2 clubs.

Ditto. It does seem that in the past year, as more and more folks have purchased G's and Z's, each camp has developed a critical mass that has enabled the model-specific cliques. Newer owners of each car don't seem to honor and/or appreciate the similarites and merits of the other car. I certainly do appreciate most of the Z club's activites. Without any intention of generating any "beef", I do have to note that sometimes the vocal Z population tends to be of the younger beer-pong crowd, whereas the vocal G population tends to be of the IT geek seeking to prove their coolness and success crowd. J/k. Looking forward to future events geared towards car enthusiasts of the Z and G persuasion.

I would never ask any National G Club member to choose between clubs. It's not a deal enough to me. A club is what it is though. You are going to have those people that are very passive and diehard in a club. I find myself at that medium.

I think it would be great to have several multi-club meets during the year, steering away from the joining of all events though since that would defeat the purpose of separate clubs. I wouldnt want anamosity between people or clubs at all, so hear that point before making assumptions about my intentions.
