Clearance Lights Mod Done

Most of you have seen this mod Done Before, I just wanted to thank Devon for helping me out. I got impatient and didnt meet up with him but he gave me very good Over the phone instructions. Thanks a lot.

PS these are a pretty easy mod, Putting the lights back in seemed harder then getting them out though

Looks good but I'd be careful of that blue color. Hope you don't get pulled over. I'm gonna order those PIAA Tera LED's which should have a real bright white color and hopefully complete the look.

That he is. He's giving me the help (and confidence) to install the remote for my new V1 Radar "Locator" in the ashtray of my wife's new CPE 6MT.

There is a thread for doing this install (with an Escort 8500) at: http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51143
and the author has sent wnt1bd and I some of his info.

For what it is worth, the V1's Remote is considerably larger than the 8500's and the V1 Remote completely fills up the removable ashtray - it's going to look like it was designed to go there.

Hey Jerry this isn't completely related to the topic however I have the 8500 and I use the hook and suction cups that the detector comes with however I feel as though it just hangs down too much - basically the detector is more pointed upwards and its not horizontal enough. Am I possibly doing something wrong? I saw the picture on the link you posted and it seems to be mounted perfectly straight. I wonder why mine can't seem to do that adn the front of my radar hangs down farther. I do have my hard wired as well to the A-Pillar.

The blue white lights consist of one blue LED and one white LED. They really are very blue but it realy depends on what angle your looking at the car. If you look from the side it really looks blue, but if you look dead center at the car you can bearly see the lgihts b/c our headlights block it out. So hopefully I dont get pulled over but what what I can see its really not that bad b/c most of the time you really cant even see it.

Hi guys, FIRST post

TwiBlue- becareful with those blue clearance. MD cops seem to be okie with white lights (which come off slightly blue in the clearance) but if they see blue lights, they might get c()cky and show you their blue lights, if you get my drift.

For those with the v1 or 8500 x50 detectors, I'd highly recomend buying a mirror mount from some dude name Mike from my350z forum. It hangs from the mirror and if hardwired, looks as if it came stock with the car. It's $20 shipped. Nice looking mount that uses the radar's bracket. I can take some pictures, but someone would have to host since I'm too lazy to learn all that.

I had the mirror mount actually and sold it. Reason is it was a great mount but was right below the rear view mirror and since I work in VA and drive a lot iwth my windows down, was always afraid that cops would pull me over for it. Now its more concealed by the rear view mirror.

I have an Escort 7500 in my er, ah, car and the bracket needs to be bent to get it hoizontal in my wife's G. The bracket for the V1 has an adjustment that you can make in place so the detector is horizontal.

is it worth it tho?
i dont know how that thing works...
i was testing with that thing with my friend and it only detects when cops turn on their radars(systems)
most of time, they dont turn it on and you cant even detect it;
am i wrong on that?
