well here goes the story...
when we got off from olive garden and took the exit to get on 95 or highway (i forgot the name but anyways.), i couldnt keep up with those MT owners
i think Gmoney4 (greg(?) i think) and clokwork.
i was like wow this sure sucks and thousand things came into my head.
is it even worth spending money on to this AT car o_O?
cuz like i was planning on some mod. with hundreds and thousands but i am thinking.
i wasnt expecting it to be at the same level as the 6MT G but boy...that was disappointing. :/
i know that those people have mod. under the hood and w/e but wow.
anyone wanna add to this?

I dont think its your car - I think its more how crazy they drive. You can keep up if you drive like a maniac trust me. I'm a lot more careful when I drive since I got pulled over but I think I could keep up if I really wanted. Use the car in MM mode and turn off VDC and then see how close you are to them.

Yeah it's definately the driving skills.....if you are ready to gun it and cut people off then you will be just fine...

 

An AT is never going to be an MT but I think the MM mode comes pretty close. Again, I've pulled 14.5 in the 1/4 mile which IMHO is pretty good for an AT. Were you driving in MM or no? Driving in MM does make a huge difference I think. The car is much more responsive...and if you need to answer your cell phone just push the shifter to the left and you're good to go (take that MT drivers!!! )

 

Its your driving skills then. Even Arjun can keep up (sometimes) and he's stock which means he's just driving a little crazy and in fact, I could swear he was gonna die that one time on 495.

Better safe than sorry though. So you're a little far back - sometimes its just not worth it.

i found out that the VDC killed me.
i am shutting it off 24/7 (since i dont drive with G in bad weathers.)

 

damn guys, we don't drive crazy all the time. Actually I was driving nice and slow saturday for everyone to keep up, esp. before we met up with the MD boys. Its not a matter of driving "crazy." I mean sometimes I drive like an ***, but I'm not known to cut people off and drive on shoulders, etc. There is a bit of skill involved On a side note, that VDC slip is a bitch, it slows you down big time if you catch it at all. Plus, ask Puria, his auto is still slower than clokwork & I's 6 mt's hahaha I love this auto vs. mt hostility!

Well I didnt mean crazy as in riding on the shoulders. I just meant you have to drive aggressive in that setting if you want to keep up. I really dont think there's a big difference in AT vs MT, I think its moreso driving styles.

I had no idea I was even driving crazy lol... whenever I see someone in front of me gun it, I have to drop gears and keep up. I do think its time I challenge Arjun to a race though so I can show him who is boss heheheh....

Wow ... are you talkin about that civic? ... The civic cut me off .. and i backed off.... when we drive crazy! .. its never safe .... whenever your drive like that people don't realize you are always on the edge and can die any second ... how about the time we were only going about 35 MPH and you were going to rear end Lek? that could have ended up in a dangerous collision as well. * Knock on wood * i don't mean to jinx anybody .. and i hope we all stay safe but i just think that when you drive like the way we were ... every second we are at a risk of Dying unless you guys are Immortal and I am the only Mortal.

 

Bro VDC has nothing to do with Performance! .. and especially if we are on the highway doing 80 MPH or so .. its safer to keep VDC on ... cuz it can save your life .. it has saved mine before to tell you the truth... Do you drive MM or do you just put ur car in D and Floor it? .... Learn the MM for those drives .. they help a lot. and AT isn't bad at all ... it is almost as good as the MT. The only problem is we have lag in our shifting .. and one less gear. that doesnt mean that you shouldn't be able to keep up. Take Puria for instance .. he is one of the crazier drivers in our club and he has an AT. Look around on the forums .. there are some sweeet G's which are AT. Checkout Tinman's ride ... he has an AUTO TT... and he has dynoed up to 420 HP! ..

hahaha look at greg talking...just 2 months ago all he had was intake/z tube....now he's got some cojones!! let me stuff some mango's in ur exhaust buddy and we'll see how quick off the line you are!! on a side note though in an AT you definitely want to have VDC off in addition to your AC. I am always hot or warm so i have a problem having my AC on (house/car/work) so make sure to turn it off. But MT's will stil have the advantage but i think its all about driving the $hit out of the car. as others have mentioned its mostly about driving crazy and i know i take alot of risks as I know greg and john do as well (seen them drive so i can speak on there behalf). But I think they are both good drivers and are willing to push the G to its limits.
