Blue Mountain Rd

Alright there's a lot of talk about this road you guys went on two weeks back. And I wanted to get some clarity. Is this the road that is off of 50 and at the end of the road you come down a steep hill? And the road looks like you are driving in the mountains? At the end of the hill you make a right turn and you go for about 5 mins. you will get to Leesburg Corner? Is this the road you guys are raving about??? Please let me know!! Thanks!

VDC? No way, thats the first thing I turned off... haha.. How else am I supposed to drift through those turns, catch all my gears, and go as fast as possible without that annoying *** slip light coming on?

Yeah VDC aggravates me as well. But its' great for inexperienced drivers. Plus it prevents "freak" accidents. As long as the driver doesn't jerk the wheel wildly the car shouldn't be doing 360's. I've learned to drive with the VDC on. The light doesn't really come on even when I drive. Even through the twisties. Usually in the rain it comes on pretty often.

Byrnie, it's better to practice with the vdc on anyways. Just try to take the car to "your' limits. You've just gotta know your limit and the car's limit. The VDC will save your life LOL

Or....

You can come with us (John and I) to idlywood this weekend... If you pass idlywood you're pretty much good to go.

spinning out was a good learning experience because after i spun out ... i handled the turns properly ... i kept downshiftin into 3rd on the turns and 4th on straight aways pretty much ... is that what you guys do as well? ... and after that i was right behind John's butt! ... John, Puria and Greg were going crazy.. lol that was the craziest drive of my life.

There's actually a road in w.va thats 2 notches crazier than Blue Mt. Rd. I don't know how to get there though. But I think that Stanton might. We took that road to the W.Va meet about a year ago. And on the way back the road was crazy. Brian is familiar with the same road I think. The feeling I had inside when driving on that road trying to follow Danny and another dude (i think his gf was driving lol) man I've never really been that scared ....but that road freightens me....lol sorry just gotta admit it. I'd love to go back again though.

RJ when you downshift are you rev matching? Also when are you downshifting? As you are approaching the corner or as you are going through the corner? Heel - Toe would come in handy in this instance. But because of the G's pedal setup I just don't feel like attempting it. Definitely some good roads here in va. Just gotta head west though.
