Lip Chroming
Anyone know of a reputable company that can chrome the lips on my volks? The wheels are about 5 months old and the clear coat is hazed. I only wash them with soap and water and somehow they are really hazed and minorly pitted. Anyone else experience this?
polish or chrome? I believe most volks have polished lips and not chrome. I think Ye wheel shop in Columbia can refinish them. They are always backed up and might take a while to get your wheel back. There is some other dude that fix wheels in NOVA also that can refinish/paint the lip w/o on the spot with the tires on. You have to search for old thread about it.

they are currently polished... all 4 wheels have the clear hazed. I wanted to get the lips chromed because it will make cleaning them alot easier. anyone else with volks having the same issues?
My two cents....never use soap on your rims... If you do...dont laugh..use baby soap or something that is specifically mild. I just use a waxed and damp cloth...no soap. The chemicals in the soap is what you are seeing on your rims...If only 5 months old, you must clean the hell out of your car..lol. (LIKE ME).
You can get them buffed at a detail shop, then think about clear coating them yourself. PM me if interested in doing the work yourself. I painted my TSW Modellos to match the interior colors of my G. Took a long aszz time but the final product, I am happy with. Give me a bit to dig up the shop in MD that does rims....keep inmind its about 200 a wheel for poweder coating (not sure about just the lip) and takes about 3 weeks, so hopefully you still have your stockers?

I still have the factory 18's... I dont want to re-clear them... i want to chrome them because it would make cleaning them soooooo much easier and I wont have to worry about them.
