Clear Bra installation
Anyone know where in the DC area I can go to get this clear bra installed for my G? I've been to one tint shop and they told me they don't do em. Bug scrubbing is the part I hate most while washing my cars, especially on my ivory pearl G that can easily turn brown or green depending on type of bug lol. HELP brothas N sistas!!!!
If you're a very picky person about the appearance of your car, I say it's not worth it. I had it installed on a black car and although it did the job protecting the bumper, I still felt it took away from the cleanliness of the car. It's not 100% invisible and during pollen season, the seams are clearly visible. Given you have a white car it will be less noticeable but cleaning the bug stains will not change. It's actually easier to remove bug stains on the paint rather than the clear bra since too much scrubbing can cloud the clear plastic material. Your best bet for protecting from bug stains is to wax your car more often. If you want protection from very small road debris and chips, a clear bra would do the trick but depending on how good your installer is, it may still be pretty visible from a few feet away.
My same thought is about clearbra. I don't think cleaning would change, it's not like you'll just let the bra get dirty and not clean it right? Cleaning plastic or vinyl has to be harder than an waxed paint surface. I think you're better off paying for new paint job like ever 3-5 years than to spend it on a clear bra. Chances of your having any incident that would damage your bumper within that time is pretty high as well. So you'd have to paint anyways, and clearbra is all but a waste at that point.

I forgot to add that any scuff in the clear bra is highly visible and cannot be buffed out as it would be on the paint. Once a clear bra is damaged in a certain spot, it can only be resolved by replacing the whole thing. I'm unaware of possible spot fixes on a clear bra unlike paint. Like paint though, a clear bra can be waxed. Light scrubbing can be done but you can't use your finger nails and scrub bug stains off cause it will cause the clear bra to haze. If you did the same thing on paint, you can buff out the haze but not on the clear bra. Don't get me wrong, the clear bra has its positives and negatives but in the end, it wasn't for me despite shelling out $600 for it.
