According to leftlane news:

Toyota has given the green light to a production version of the FT-HS concept, reports Automobile magazine. The FT-HS was unveiled earlier this year, featuring one of the first applications of hybrid power in a sports car.

At the Detroit auto show in January, Toyota officials openly admitted the concept could provide clues to a successor to the Supra. It's not known if the Japanese automaker plans to use the Supra name for the production car, which is now expected to arrive in 2009 model.

Toyota said the FT-HS would cost between $30,000 and $40,000 if produced. The 400 horsepower concept version features a 3.5 liter V6 coupled with the electric motor used in the GS 450h. The car seats four and has a 50:50 weight balance and zero to sixty time of four seconds.

meh screw this. The new Stupra is coming out next year which is supposed to compete with the new GT-R. Our car and the G37 isn't even in the same class as these cars.

it was anounced a while ago but is not being called as of yet the supra. There will be two versions. A 400 hp version sold for around 50k and the 500 hp version sold around for around 60k.

are you going off of those renderings and the V6 V8 combo? All of that was speculation.... PURE speculation. Toyota themselves even debunked those rumors.

I went and did a little research. It looks like this hybrid thing is the next "supra" so you're wrong. There was a little speculation at first as to what the new one will have. Hopefully the production version will be unveiled at the tokyo auto show with the GT-R

Those "rumors" were put out by toyota and ended up in Motor Trend and Car and Driver along with photo's. It appears this new Hybrid thing is the next supra. Look at the tail lights. I have to admit I was wrong about the two version thing so far.

This was what I was talking about:

yeah, those are the same ones I was referring to that Toyota denounced. They said we have no plans on releasing a new supra any time soon.

I think this concept has always been teh FT-HS. The supra was a different concept/rumor that was suppose to have the 2 platforms like you stated. Probably look close to each other, but let the "supra" die until toyota bring it back to life or officially name this a supra. No point in referencing it as the next "supra"

well FT-HS is a concept code name, its highly unlikely that toyota would release a car called FT-HS. it could very well be named supra by production time, or something else. but im pretty certain it wont be called FT-HS
