Question 06-07 headlight recall...

I know many of you already know about the 06-07 headlight recall, but what I want to know is who can get their hands on some after Infiniti has replaced them. John told me that they are supposed to destroy them after they put the new ones in. I dont care that they fog up,my 03's looked jacked and Im gonna tint the new ones anyway. Who here with an 06-07 is getting theirs replaced and can you find out if they will give you the old ones? I called Passport in Alexandria yesterday and asked about it and Matthew in service said that I couldn't get the ones off of my buddy's car. He gave me the vibe that he couldn't say yes over the phone. Someone please help me out!!!

Not a clue...Passport told me it is now illegal to drive on the road with the current 06-07 headlights. No wonder everyone flashed their brights at me when I drove by them at night....

I bought my 06 headlights for my 05 Coupe from Chad, where would I have to go to get my headlights replaced? Does it even apply to me since I have a 05 coupe? I havent been able to get in contact with Chad.

Its not that hard to do. With a few hours work you can do it yourself. Just make sure to get an 6" extension for a 10mm rachet wrench (that alone made a big difference...)

Infiniti is getting very strick with the dealers about the units being pulled. Infiniti wants the techs doing the work to 'smash' the light assemblies making them unuseable. There is a 20k fine if caught not following their proceedures. Don't think that any dealership wants to find themself in that position.
