Another Shooting at VTech

On a side note, one thing I've been pondering, is how does the guy get away with killing that many people?? After the first shot, regardless of the fact he has a gun, im getting up and running/ducking. Obviously after the first 2-3 shots and people getting shot in the head, its obvious I am next and so I wont bother just laying there like a lamb to the slaughter....
just heard this on the news, the shooter was indeed an Asian American , he came from California and reside in Blacksburg,VA for about an year. he has facebook that are full of photos of guns and automatic weapons. pretty crazy dude .. i would love to see his facebook..

I'm on the s2k boards as well and we are keeping away from the pro and anti gun speeches going on right now. I'm glad to see this site is doing the same. There will be plenty of time to debate gun rights, but this is not the time. My heart and prayers go out to those families.

Yeah, I am thankful that this board has stayed away from the gun propaganda as well. Also, all the media wants you to believe is that the campus should have been locked down like a ghost town, which is not possible in the first part- and secondly, there was NO reason to believe that was necessary. They are unjustly burning President Steger and the police at the stake in my opinion. They are also completely misconstruing the opinions and feelings of the student body and the like- everyone I have talked to in Bburg seems to understand that there was no reason to 'attempt' to lockdown the campus, and dont blame the administration and decision makers for not doing so-
i find it strange how it happened because i keep hearing reports that 30 some shots were fired, he would have to hit at a very high percentage and almost each shot has to be leathal to kill that many people with 9mm caliber guns. sounds like it might be more than just him rushing in and start spraying fire
Cool

It's a sad event as is but it seems as if the news is just out to point fingers. If this was a hostage situation where a gunman made threats before shooting up the place, I think a number of casualties could have been prevented. But the guy simply came in, told everyone to get down and shot everyone in the classroom. The dorm that the first shooting took place is about 1/2 mile away from the classroom. It would take at least 10 mins to drive there, storm the building, locate and attempt to stop the shooter. No law enforcement can respond that fast even if swat was down the street. This guy had some serious issues and had everything planned out. He simply shot to kill. Even if you had a gun and were in the room, it would probably be in your bag. By the time you get it, take the safety off and stand up. You'd be shot.
according to abc, he left a real disturbing note in hes dorm room.
he killed the 2 in the dorm, went to hes room to re-arm and left the note, then went to the engineering building. It seems carefully planed because he brought chains and locks to lock the doors of the engineering building from the inside. everything was premeditated.
