Out of anyone in current and past histories of time... Alexander of Macedon would be the one person I would wish to meet in person if I ever had the chance.

This was supposed to be a thread about Nowrouz and celebration of the Iranian new year, not a thread about incorrect historical statements and lame *ss racist jokes. If you dont like the topic make your own thread.

Technically, the story goes that there were no survivors from the battle (of either side), not that the Persian army was conquered lol. Considering numbers (even though no known total exists, the low estimate is that the Spartans were outnumbered 10-1 the high being 1000-1) I would say the Palestinians did get spanked. Wouldn't you?

p.s. I am completely kidding and just added another joke on to what another already had lol.

umm actually thats incorrect. The spartans were 300 of a larger greek army. Read Herodotus (Greek writer/historian)

"At the Battle of Thermopylae, a small force of warriors, led by King Leonidas, resisted the much larger Persian forces, but were ultimately defeated. After Thermopylae, Athens was conquered, and the Athenians and Spartans were driven back to their last line of defense at the Isthmus of Corinth and in the Saronic Gulf. At Artemisium, the battle was indecisive as large storms had destroyed ships from Greek side. The battle was also stopped prematurely as the Greeks learned news of the defeat at Thermopylae and retreated. But Xerxes was induced by the message of Themistocles (against the advice of Artemisia of Halicarnassus) to attack the Greek fleet under unfavourable conditions, rather than sending a part of his ships to the Peloponnesus and awaiting the dissolution of the Greek armies. The Battle of Salamis (September 29, 480) was won by the Athenians. Having lost his communication by sea with Asia, Xerxes was forced to retire to Sardis; the army he left in Greece under Mardonius was defeated in 479 B.C. at Plataea"
